I have used these type of Church Candles extensively. They have a lot of wax, come in a variety of colors, and tend to not to burn too hot. You can normally find them for around a $1 USD in dollar stores (at least here in the US).
I don't know about the specific ones linked, I just used that as an example, but what you are looking for is ones where the wax feels soft to the touch at room temperature. Go to a local discount store and test a few by pushing your fingernail into the wax, if it feels hard and flakey it is the wrong type, if it feels soft and moldable it is the right one. Oh, and avoid scented candles as the oil used to create the scent increases the temperature of the wax.
