first of it's amazing that you're willing to do a foster to adopt. A couple of people in my family have fostered and it's great. Most people are only willing to adopt and if they consider foster will only foster an infant.

Okay, I saw that you and your husband are a nerdy couple (like us) and I saw this article a while back and thought of it instantly when I saw your post. My favorites are the lost nursery, the doctor who, and the superman (which I'd use as inspiration for a batman) ones.

If you end up going with the lion king nursery you can start with either Mellow Yellow by Behr or Zinnia Gold. I think they're really lion king colors and they're not to bright for a nursery. It's also better than using those sticky decals which look cheap and are horrible quality.

These are amazingggggg, especially at night. I had this one which may go with your theme a little bit but it was absolutely amazing. It comes with a remote for it that you can turn it on from the doorway or outside the room so if the baby is about to fall asleep you don't have to walk in and wind up a traditional mobile to get it going again. Babies R Us also offers this one which is a traditional lion king mobile.

A lion king bedding set would go nicely with some lion king sheets. I like the sheets because they don't just come in lion king character prints. They come with other safari type prints as well. If you don't want to go with the big bedding set and just the sheets you could get this blanket for the crib. A diaper stacker works well especially if you're limited on space. This lamp is a little on the expensive side but is absolutely adorable. These are a nice alternative instead of using the wall stickers. This little snuggler is so cute.

Honestly you and your husband can do the wall art similar to the buzzfeed article I sent you (the superman nursery theme). Just go to a craft store and get a couple of canvases and you guys can paint a couple lion king pictures to add some pop to the walls.

good luck and hakuna matata.

Good stuff. The Motherlove cream is really nice. The hospital had little sample packets of it and sent me home with a huge stack of them that I’m still working through.

If I could add two of my favorites β€” a diaper caddy! I got this one at my shower and it’s fantastic. I’ve got it filled with diapers, wipes, butt paste, lotion, gas drops, q-tips, hand sanitizer, breast pads, etc and it just follows us from room to room. It’s so nice to have everything with me at all times and not have to run back upstairs for every change.

And this cleansing water is great for cleaning off faces, hands and butts (especially when a diaper needs a little more than a wipe). It’s Micellar water, so you don’t need to rinse it off. I just squirt some on to a cotton pad β€” this also stays in the diaper caddy. Great for in between baths!

I have the same pack and play; my daughter slept in hers for 10 months. The changer is a life saver; so convenient.

We never used the napper thing because it didn’t seem like a safe sleep option, so we just used the bassinet portion until she reached the weight limit, then removed the bassinet harness and lowered the mattress.

ETA: if want to save some space, I recommend something like this organizer; we had something similar attached to the front of our pack and play, and it was nice having everything easily within reach while changing the baby.

I have 8 week old twins at home, and most of the day it's just me. I pump and fortify. I use the Dr. Brown's pitcher to get bottle prep done. After sterilizing I put them in the fridge and use this warmer to start to warm the bottle while I change the baby. We have this basket to take where we need to change them.

I work to keep them on a 3 hour schedule during the day, and if one wakes up early the other one gets woken up after I am done with the first baby. Generally I try and keep them on a 30 minute offset to give me time to devote to the one I have awake.

I keep them swaddled, and use the twin-z pillow that another person linked to help prop them up a little after feeding. We have baby boxes that they sleep in, and during the day I keep them out with the blinds open to start to establish a day and night routine.

Get a mini fridge upstairs, a second bottle warmer and set up a feeding station there to make things easier. or simply feed them room temp bottles. For help with dispensing forumla there are these individual formula dispensers, or one's that have 3 chambers. You can put the water in the bottles, and then add the forumula powder as needed. Our house is one story, so at night if husband is home and has to work I use the guest bedroom as my night changing station.

Your doing awesome, it's a lot to adjust to, and you will learn more every day. If the schedule gets off, it's fine they will survive which is the game plan at this point.

Formula is expensive, have you signed up to get samples, or the formula checks?

I think this would be pretty cute and practical in the timetot's room! It shouldn't take up too much space since it'd be on the wall.

I'd like this book :) Thanks for doing this and congrats on the timetot!

A while back someone posted a link to a cute little tote with a snail on it. Perfect for toting around our snaily essentials! The size is pretty decent. We should be able to put lots of goodies in there!

ETA: Or a bee caddy if you're more of a honey-propolis-bee venom girl. ;-)

My go to gift for baby showers is something I bought for myself when I had babies, and couldn't do without after I'd had it.

It's a diaper caddy. There are tons of types now. It holds some diapers, some wipes, diaper cream, and most of them come with a changing pad. "GET ME THE DIAPER THING" was a phrase commonly used in my house after I bought one. I've been told by the folks I've given them to that they are heavily used.

I'm going to get one for my neighbor who's having her 3rd. I'm going to fill it with bunch of fun bath stuff for the mom to use as well.

It’s not too bad with a sprayer and spray shield. I use this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LCWLM52?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I wash every 2 days and spray when it’s time to do laundry. I put the poopy diapers in a bucket, bring into bathroom, clip them on the shield and spray them down. Then transfer back to bucket and dump in the washer.
