This because it's funny! and thanks for the contest! :)
I highly recommend the whole Beauty and Crime album. I just discovered it a couple weeks ago, and I think it's fantastic.
Curiously enough, the way I found her was by looking online for good pop music in 3/4 appropriate for cross-step and Viennese waltz. Got pointed to the utterly sublime Bad Wisdom (among other things) and then found my way to B&C.
hello, i'm ok with posting these albums but please edit out the last DeYarmond Edison album 'silent signs' as it's avaiable to buy here
thank you!!
I agree on Monsters and Men, but I've got a few more to add...
Branches - Thou Art The Dream. I accidentally stumbled upon them, but their stuff is totally worth the money.
The Lumineers
Alistair Mackenzie I just found him the other day and he's great (and free)
Well, there's at least one, two albums on Amazon with Inter chants, in case you'd like to listen to them on repeat and help your brain get used to them. Although, they don't include my favorite ones: one for milanisti, and the newest of the bunch for juventini.
Any Italian I know I learned it from hearing Antonio Cassano speak.
He has a whole album of non shit. It actually is really good and he was named Artist of the Year at the Omaha Entertainment and Arts awards earlier this year. Heres his album if you want to hear more.
Melanie Gall, one of the hosts of the Savvy Girls podcast, recently released an album of knitting songs from WWI era. I haven't listened to all of them, but I've heard her perform a few at a knitting event in NYC. Sounded nice.
