I'M IN :D And I've already got ideas c: Gonna start on this c:
EDIT: I meant to edit this.. Not reply. ._.
Something that is grey.An item that is less than a dollar, including shipping... that is not jewelry, nail polish, and or hair related!A movie everyone should watch at least once in their life. Why?I'll come back with the three I missed c:
Edit#2: Adding raffle phrase! fear cuts deeper than swords
Also adding one of the bonuses! Purdy paintbrushes are made in Oregon c: They've been made in Portland since 1925! c:
I agree with Mo Willems. The Pigeon books of his are fan favorites with most kids! Pete the Cat is another great series kids love. There is also a series “there was an old lady” (who swallowed a fly is probably one your remember) but they have one for each season and various others. Those are pretty popular with kids.
I get a lot of my books for very cheap prices at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet. You have to dig for them sometimes but I’ve uncovered lots of great books there by digging.
Libraries also will often have cheap books that were either donated for the book sales or that have been taken out of circulation. My library has a small section year round that can be purchased. I’ve found some other great books here too!
Something like this might be useful-
Dry Erase Pockets - Reusable + Oversized - Size 10 X 13 Inches - 30 Pockets for Adults and Children - Mixed Colors - Ideal to use at School or at Work https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071RYD3J4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_bVITBb7N4DS10
She can place any paper inside and have kids use dry erase markers to do the activity.
So I have a weird little idea for a craft project. I play Dungeons and Dragons but I'm too cheap for miniatures, so I've been looking into replacements.
My idea is basically to make discs/tokens out of neoprene and small magnets, with one side having something that could be drawn on and is either easily erasable or replaceable. The neoprene and magnets are specifically to give each token some weight and friction, so they can't be knocked around too much accidentally.
I've done a little research and I've found some of the materials I'd need:
These magnets are pretty much exactly what I'm looking for, though I'm not exactly sure how strong they are. I'd like for them to be strong enough to, say, stick to a fridge with about a 1/16th of an inch of neoprene between the two.
Then, I can use a pair of these neoprene washers to cover the outside of the magnet. The size isn't a perfect match to the magnet, but I've looked and this is about as close as I can get without having to buy entire sheets of neoprene and cut out the discs/rings I need myself. The magnets have a 10mm diameter, which leaves ~1.35mm around the outside of the magnet, which I suppose I could fill with...tape? There'd also be space above and below the magnet, but I'm not worried about 7/40ths of a millimeter.
I'll get another set of washers with a smaller inner diameter (but the same 1 inch outer diameter) to use as the bottoms of the tokens, just so the magnet isn't visible.
As far as the drawing surface, I'm not sure. I want it to be pretty solid, so I'm thinking I could use this stuff with these applied over top so I can get the 'easily reusable' part down. Still not entirely sure, but that seems like a reasonable solution.
I have no idea what sort of adhesive to use. Pretty big part of it, but I've never done anything like this before.
In the end, it'd look something like this. Clocks in at about $85 (most of it being the washers), but that'd get me about 100 tokens. I don't think I could use 100 tokens, but I think I could find people interested in them.
I've experimented with a number of things, and I think my favorite solution is Dry-Erase friendly tokens. You can make them a lot of ways, but the cheapest way is by buying sheets of dry-erase sticker paper cut and stuck on tokens. With a pair of scissors you can have all the tokens you really need for under $25 bucks. If you want to be really cheap then make the tokens with stuff you have on hand like cardboard or leftover miniature bases or literally any substance which you can cut up.
This beats printing out pre-labelled ones because you're never like "where's that orc..." You take a marker, and you make an orc. Even better, you can number the monsters as you lay them out (orc 1, orc 2, orc 3) which makes calling enemies at the table easier than "that one." (This helps you too, since you can use this nomenclature in your initiative and damage notes.) Even even better you can (if you wish) apply a color-logic to them if you're in a complicated skirmish (the blue ones are friends, etc.). If you need even more reasons, you can fit like a bazillion of them in a dice bag and they pack up pretty small since they're flat.
Things I use teacher money for:
Post-It Easel Pads
Flip Chart Paper Also comes in 1-inch grid
Flip chart easels to use with the pads so you can use them anywhere in the room
Thin markers and thick ones
Construction paper
Colored printer paper (i.e. astrobrights)
write and wipe pockets
Organization - file folders, hanging folders, and mobile drawer units
Scissors, pens, rulers
A scanner
Flash drives
Classroom laminator and associated supplies
Paper trimmer
Misc project supplies or manipulatives
A large world map and a map of the US
I'm sure there's more but I'm pretty sure I already spent all of your money :)
These would be super helpful! I'm pretty forgetful so having those stuck all over with notes and reminders would help so much. They're $6.99 though, so if that's too much over, just go ahead and count me out. :)
Thank you for the contest!
We bought this Retractable Sign and then had "Celebrating 15 Ears" and a picture of Mickey and Minnie kissing printed in adhesive vinyl. We held it up on rides and for photopass pictures, and generally got very good response. The only ride we got fussed on about it was Rockin Rollercoaster.
Seconding this. I bought these white board "paper" sheets from the school supplies section of a grocery store. Like $2.
Those blank poker cards people are linking look sweet though.
I have these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000F8R46A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
on the hardcover portion of my notebook. Is this pretty similar to what you are describing? I guess what im referring to in my opening post is can I condense the materials im using into something more efficient? Should I just do everything on a white board that I can erase and write my monsters on index cards and call it a day?
Apologies but it is my first time posting on DnD and I was being careful about not breaking the advertising rule, even though I don't represent the company or anything. The brand I use is called Magic Whiteboard. They come in big rolls like cellophane.

US $65.99:

I'm not sure if the sizes of those two products are exactly the same but I believe so.

Dry erase sheets. I use them for other stuff, but they are very easy to size, cut, and stick. Highly recommend for your problem.
Here's one option :)
https://www.amazon.com/GoWrite-Erase-Self-Adhesive-White-AR1820/dp/B000F8XDXI
As an example. Probably a cheaper and/or better brand out there.
If I'm home and sketching ideas I use my 4'x6' whiteboard.
Its visible from anywhere in my garage I can write big its easy to erase if changes need to be made.
when I'm not home any random piece of paper and a pen.
GOOD NEWS EVERYBODY, you can buy this stuff in rolls and cut to length. For $30, you can buy a whole roll.
20 foot roll.

I found these on amazon, the reviews say that you can easily cut them to make them smaller.
It's magic whiteboard.

Maybe you could add some adhesive whiteboard paper to the back?
how about?
I got these, used double sided tape instead of the adhesive because I'm paranoid. Alternatively, I have a shitload of these from when the office was going to toss them. I use them as stencils, but they'd work too.
I got some adhesive sheets!
I cut and stuck two to my DM screen. They work well for tracking initiative and quick notes
They do! I just cut these sheets down to size: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000F8R46A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use projector transparencies to overlay my maps, and mark anything relevant down on them with permanent marker.(or dry erase, depending what I'm doing)
Only people I trust know what maps those transparencies overlay. There are also numerous decoys that will lead people on really uncomfortable marches through swamps and other unpleasant places mixed in with them with only one or two leading to the correct places, should they actually figure out what page of the map book they go to.
Or buy some of these, cut them out and stick them to basic lands/tokens/those useless ad cards.
Great idea, but I'd hate to have chalk on my hands while playing.
Why not get dry erase sheets? Cut them to size, have a few markers.
