I switched my current project from a hole-punched bit of cardboard over to this last week and I will never. go. back! It’s so much easier to take the floss on and off the little spokes/foam than it is to unknot/re-knot the bunches! It’s soooooo much faster to get more floss or switch colors now!

They have them on Amazon (here!) but they are cheaper on Wish.com, where I discovered and purchased mine! It took about 3 weeks to receive; for those unfamiliar, items on Wish are usually coming from China/overseas. I only bought one at first, to try it out, but I have a second on its way to me right now from Wish. Search for “floss organizer” to find a bunch of options.

Like I said - I love it! I’d say the only downside is that there are only spots for 30 colors per unit, and the spots don’t hold that much thread. The entirety of my current project - from a large but non-full-coverage kit - fit on here with me doubling up on a few colors that aren’t too heavily used/didn’t come with a lot of floss. This may not be that practical if you’re working on something with more than 30 or so colors, or lots of floss per color.

The green felt areas of the unit are for pre-threading needles, if you’d like. They stick into those little spots and stick up, ready to grab. I won’t be using that feature.

The unit came with four double-sided inserts (they slide in) for writing the symbols/numbers on. I photocopied these to make many more, and I also scanned them to have more as a printable file. You could probably also use White-Out carefully to reuse the inserts.

This was my first ever embroider piece based off of this pattern/kit.

I've been cross-stitching for a couple of years and wanted to take my skills to the next level. It was a thank you gift for some friends who like minimalism, and millennial pink.

I switched up the basket color to be pink and made up a sort of basketweave stitch as well to give the basket more life.I wanted to have fun with the framing so they'd feel like they were hanging a plant on their wall. They loved it, and I am happy with it!

You can go the easier route and buy a kit that'll give you everything you need to start. The fabric, pattern, needle, thread, and a guide most of the time.

You can find them in a lot of places:

Walmart

Amazon

Etsy

If you want to get everything separately, you should be able to find everything you need at a craft store like Hobby Lobby, Michael's, or an online retailer like 123stitch.

For patterns in particular, I really enjoy browsing Etsy.

If you need tutorials, Youtube has a ton! And they're super relaxing to watch. Lol.

I like making other people happy. There are actually a lot of things that make me happy. A job well done, exploring, and spending time with others are just a few of them. :)

Ummmmm. Embroidery Kit, please! 💕

I just got into cross-stich and I got this kit. For the price and what you get, you won't beat it at any craft store anyway. I also got the Subversive Cross Stitch book linked below. It is super fun! Etsy has great patterns and Amazon even has some too. Just depends on what you are interested in making.

u/gengardelrey · 2 pointsr/CrossStitch

Thank you so much! It's 100% 11 count each stitch is 2 threads. This is the kit I used

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07B8M2DVV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But i think it'll be sticking to 14ct in the future! thank you for your kind words though! It's really appreciated haha.

I bought the Dutch Treat frame ftom Doodlin' Around Designs . I LOVE it. It has stitch-on rollers, which are great for consistent tension on your work.

I'm not actually 100% sure. I ordered this as a beginner kit off of Amazon from a seller called Berya, but it looks like they don't sell this particular one anymore. They do however, have a lot of other lovely sets!

u/jp-golf · 1 pointr/Embroidery

That's not a bad idea. I think I'll end up trying to turn a piece of it into a patch and maybe attach it to a small pillow as you suggested.

Does a kit like this have everything I'd need to get started?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071HBH836

On some of the reviews it seemed like the cotton fabric that is included is not great for patches. Do you know what cotton fabric would be best to get for a patch?

u/braellyra · 3 pointsr/CrossStitch

Thanks for the tips!!! Any tips are good tips! I bought a kit that I think may include one of those markers? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D3PYKCV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_PIJTBbJJEHVFN Thanks for the tips!!! I’m really into the subversive cross stitch kits, so I’m thinking once I’m done with my basic shell pattern kit I’ll look into those.

u/BEEIng_ · 2 pointsr/CrossStitch

I ordered this starter kit from Amazon and it's been perfect for me. Has everything you need except for the patterns.

Embroidery Starter Kit,100 Color Threads,5 PCS Bamboo Embroidery Hoops,2 PCS 11.8 inches Aida Cloth, and Cross Stitch Embroidery Needle Point Kit Beginner Supplies https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PMVCNM2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_4e-BDbWP46NZA

I also downloaded a few simple patterns I liked from Etsy, and the kind of patterns I want to do don't require exact color matching (words and borders versus something that looks like a painting)

For $30 total I'm off to start and can be occupied for many months.

u/Dirty_Bandaid · 3 pointsr/Embroidery

The instructions weren’t the best and I definitely looked up stitches and techniques on YouTube! I got my kit on amazon. The one I got was Posy!

u/DisastrousTrash · 3 pointsr/Embroidery

Thank you! I bought this kit on Amazon and I really liked it. My only complaint is the stamped pattern lines are a little thick so you have to be careful to cover them. Also, there is a very helpful video on the listing that shows how to do the different witches.

u/Newyorklunch39 · 73 pointsr/Embroidery

I'm particularly proud of this because I'm notorious for starting craft projects and NEVER FINISHING THEM. 😂 This was just a cheap kit from AC Moore, but it was a lot of fun!

EDIT: this is the kit for anyone who wants it https://www.amazon.com/Mini-Maker-Neon-Mandala-Kit/dp/B07QHYW5XZ

u/emanbu · 1 pointr/CrossStitch

It came with this set: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07B8M2DVV/ref=pe_3187911_189395841_TE_dp_1.
But I have seen many like it on wish cheaper.

u/plasticblanket · 3 pointsr/CrossStitch

I've never cross stitched where it's viewable on either side, so someone else can answer about that. You can purchase a water soluble marker for designing on fabric, and/or water soluble fabric for keeping the squares/acts as a guide. I use the pens a bunch and they've always come out, I've used the water soluble fabric once and it worked great.

u/CourageousHufflepuff · 3 pointsr/crafts

Unfortunately it’s not available from the seller I got it from on Amazon anymore, but maybe it’ll come back or you can find it elsewhere. Hope this helps!

Yes, it was this pattern from Amazon: Full Range of Embroidery Starter... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WHMZ8RD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

u/tolerantamonia · 2 pointsr/Embroidery

Here's the Amazon link. The instructions are pretty bad but it gives you everything you need!
