My holy grail eyeliner is this Dejavu eyeliner (here's a brown one too if you want a more soft look- same formula) . 15$ seems a bit pricey for an eyeliner but one usually lasts me about 6 months to a year. (btw I wear eyeliner almost every single day) Not to mention, a lot of sephora brand eyeliners are 25$+.

I try to introduce this product to every single person that needs a new eyeliner- I see so many people I know blow almost 25$ for a sephora brand eyeliner and it bleeds/smudges/hard to apply etc.

They are a Japanese brand so not a lot of people outside of Japan know of it but it is literally THE BEST liquid eyeliner I've EVER used. I've bought this product so many times over these ~5 years. I've tried Kat Von D eyeliners, Stila, UD, drugstore brands, etcetc. And of course most of them were okay, but only okay.

I think KVD liners have a nice finish but it's hard to draw with them, (also Kat is a POS lol) Stila's eyeliner tips are hard to draw with imo, UD is just all in all underwhelming. I'm just generally not a fan of dipping types and felt tips- which rules out a good majority lmfao. Some higher end brands have a brush tip but they're usually super pricey. I love these brand's other products, but for eyeliners, I've never ever had one as good as Dejavu's.

Japanese eyeliner brands a lot of the times pushes how easily it applies and how much it doesn't budge. (idk why but jp girls would rather die than have panda eyes at the end of the day lmao) Not to mention Japanese girls tend to lean towards natural makeup looks, so they're made so it's easy to draw very thin smooth lines.

Dejavu's eyeliner sort of dries as a very very thin "film", so it's incredibly waterproof, (I legit go swimming w this eyeliner and it doesn't budge) sweat and mostly oil proof. As for application, this is what the pen tip looks like (middle one) . It never puts out too much product, so there's no bleeding. It's almost like those calligraphy brush pens. Also- it's very opaque. So no going over it twice and getting patchy pigment. Jesus lmfao I know I sound like a salesperson right now but I LEGIT have never used a better eyeliner.

Oh, one warning though, like a pen, if you keep it upside down for too long ink won't come out easily. I always try to store it cap side down in a makeup storage cup/container.

If for some reason you can't get this one/don't want to get this one I've also had good luck with moteliner (a bit pricier, MIGHT bleed if you use too much but longlasting and very easy to draw with nonetheless)

There's also love liner which has a smaller and thinner brush tip! So this one might be good for you as well. Only thing for me for love liner is that I THINK it ran out a bit too fast, but i'm not 100% sure, maybe I accidentally left it open too long one time. If you're interested in pencil/gel liners as well I'd totally check out Love Liner's pencil liners, they're SUPER thin and creamy, doesn't smudge much- but of course smudges more than film finish liquid eyeliners.

I always get Japanese brand's eyeliners, they're so much easier to draw with and a pen-brush type is common so that's something I love.

Hope you can find something good!

OMG I love this idea! and I desperately need this ! lol and anything I dont need ill pay it forward! but chances my daughter and I would use all of that! maybe invite some lady friends to have a girls night out!!! ♥

as for gifts ive done it :p I dont post that often so gifted posts should be easy to find on my profile!

Ok since I have not had any make up issues in a while that I can recall I wanted to post two great things ive found :) hope thats okay!

  1. Indian Clay Mask super good for cleaning my crazy face after all the make up I put on my face. My bf uses it too because his skin is oily and it keeps his skin smooth.

  2. Milani Eyeliner! I swear by this liner! its staying power is so good you can wear it for 2 or 3 days! and I shave my eyebrows off and draw them in with this liner so rain or even a late night out of dancing!!!

    <3 Thanks ♥
u/HyperbolDee · 5 pointsr/Makeup101

Try using gel eyeliner for smoother lines. It comes in a little pot and you apply it with a small brush. I bought this eyeliner a couple years ago, mostly for the wing stencil (which took some practice, but was actually a good tool), but it’s actually a good eyeliner and comes with a brush.

I also noticed that a lot of your makeup is drugstore. I’m all for saving a buck and finding good dupes, but I’ve personally never had much luck with drugstore eyeshadows. I’ve managed to score some really good deals on UD Naked palettes online, and it made a big difference in my eye game. They just tend to blend better and have more staying power. I also subscribe to Ipsy, and most months I’ll get an eyeshadow from a decent brand - sometimes they are amazing, and sometimes they suck, but at the end of the day I only spent $12 on the whole bag, ya know?

Finally, just wanted to say I can’t contour to save my life, and I think your cheeks look GREAT, and you either have super foundation skills or really good skin (or both), because I think your face in general is very well done.

Thank you for hosting such a great contest summer! Heart Drugstore Makeup :)

1. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand overall?

I loove Rimmel!

2. What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products?

Not drugstore stuff... But hands down MAC Studio Fix for face, tie between MAC Fleur Power and Tarte Dollface for cheek, and lip I loove MAC Mocha and Tarte Matte Lipsurgence in Exposed.

3. Least favorite product?

L'Oreal "Super Blendable" Foundation. That stuff made me all greasy and gross. :/

4. What is the best makeup bargain?

Korean makeup, hands down. Great quality for cheap and cute packaging to boot! It's just the shipping that kills you. :(

5. What is your favorite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?)

Victoria's Secret lip scrub and lip balm combo, it works so well!

6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?

Anything from Pixi!! It's just way too expensive for what it is.

7. Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!!

Not a perfect dupe, but here's an album comparing NYX Euro Trash to MAC Mocha lipstick. They're a little off from each other, but they're close enough for me to switch them out between the two!

8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?

Clump crusher. I've seen enough pics of it now where I know I won't die if I pass on it, it doesn't seem like anything special. Honestly the eyelashes look like little spider legs a tad.

9. What is the item you most want to try from the Drugstore?

The Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel!

10. What item would you want from your wishlist?

If I won, I'd looove the NYX Mechanical Eye Pencil in Aqua Green! (BlueScandal has free shipping!) :)

u/leviosaa · 2 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

I'll have been in this sub just less than 2 weeks by 7/21, but I wanted to share this anyway, even if I'm not eligible for the contest :)

  1. I would love to see you with some purple eyeliner. You have such beautiful brown eyes and the purple would really make them pop. There are a bunch of bold ones out there in the world, but if you're looking for something more subtle, Physician's Formula has a softer purple liner that I saw here (sold in this trio), and Maybelline makes a gel liner in "eggplant" that seems a little less bold (here).

  2. My parents inspire me! For many reasons, but lately I've been thinking about their awesome relationship. Their 30 year wedding anniversary is right around the corner and their relationship has caused me to set a really high bar for my own, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

  3. Dr. Seuss: "Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."
u/gayselle · 5 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

You have monolids and as stated by other redditors there's communities on reddit that specifically deal with that.

I find using Asian brands helps because likely they address such issues related to monolids. I keep peddling this product but Kiss Me Heroine Mascara is great for short Asian lashes. It's waterproof and really lengthens. I have cried, sweat, taken a shower, and even swam with this mascara and it does not budge. A waterproof eyeliner is also ideal and I like Dollywink eyeliner and Kiss Me Heroine eyeliner. When you're applying make sure it dries fully and you keep steady and try not to blink.

If you are willing to take a drastic step other people deal with their monolids by using eyelid tape or glue to create "double eyelids". I find it unnecessary because there are other makeup techniques that are specific to monolids. Good luck!

u/daisyismydog · 2 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

Hi Comtesse! Don't forget sunscreen :)

This is my bare face: Eek!

My insecurity is my acne (visible in the picture, especially on my cheeks) and not just the active ones but the hyperpigmentation (the purple-reddish marks they leave behind) too. However, I still do go out in public without makeup on, mostly due to laziness, but I also believe everyone should be comfortable being seen without makeup too!

Reddit raffle word: Warpaint
Item: This fancy futuristic looking liquid eyeliner

Thanks for hosting such a neat contest! Have fun at camp. :)

P.S. For reddit raffle it's super easy to use. Just go to their website and it all becomes obvious!

I haven’t read any reviews on the KVD lash liner and personally I don’t know anyone who uses it so I can’t say whether it’s good or not.
The products I like to use:
L’Oréal
maybelline
urban decay waterline
And brushes I prefer:
real techniques silicon liner brush This one helps me push gel into my lashes easier to fill in gaps.
sigma e10
sigma e06 for easier winged liner in my hooded eyes.
And for the “stamping” I use a flat japonesque brush that they apparently no longer make as it is about 10 years old BUT sigma makes quite similar that are on sale rn that are described as “tightline and waterline brushes.”
sigma e17
sigma e16

To REALLY get in between the lashes place your ring finger (don’t push too hard!!) on your eyelid right above the lashline of where you’ll be placing the product and lift up a little bit. Tilt your head back so that you’re looking downward to the mirror a little bit. That will keep you from blinking/tickling ish as well as spread the lashes so you can work the product into the gaps easier. It also helps keep that part of your eye from getting wet as it will pull it away from your eyeball a little bit. If you get teary, you can squint your lower eye a bit and it should force the tears out so you can keep going once you’ve let them fall from the corners. Do this all before the rest of your shadow. Allow yourself to blink if you must and you can dab off excess moisture on your upper waterline and lashline with a clean finger.

If you use pencil you can use a blow dryer on the tip for a few seconds (not too long! )to warm it up and make it glide easier and be more malleable.

Again, there are many techniques I’m sure that are easier that other people use, this is just what works for me❤️

u/ExcellentBarnacle · 6 pointsr/RepLadies

I’ve tossed everyone of my KVD products or given them to friends who don’t care as much. I have hooded sort of monolids. Oily and really difficult to find things that work.

u/pokeybear100 · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Yeah I've been reading BB creams can be a hit or miss for some, but I definitely want to give it a shot because I want to use a more natural/light routine.

I also want to go grab some of the NYX eye liners. Some of the ones I've seen swatched here are so vibrant and pretty! Perfect for pushing outside of my normal neutral routine without going too over the top yet ;)

u/itsnotgoingtohappen · 5 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I made a shopping list. Pick one substitute instead of a splurge and you come in under $250. The splurges I picked are well worth the cost, though. Note also that the chocolate bar palette is the only one I listed because it's pretty much the be-all-end-all of palettes for its simultaneous pops of flattering colors and neutrality. I also believe everyone should have a gorgeous red lippie. Enjoy!

I have a house full of pets! I have 2 dogs and 4 cats at the moment. Two of the cats are foster kitties that are looking for forever homes. Here's my item! Thanks for hosting!

Here's some info about my dogs and cats :)

Gunner is my dachshund. We got him when he was 3 from a woman who couldn't care for him anymore due to health issues. He has fear aggression and doesn't get along with most dogs (he hated my dog Lucy for a long time when we brought her home).

Lucy is my Boston Terrier. I got her when she was 3 months old from a family that was rehoming her because she was biting their kids. She has behavior issues and they also didn't know she is deaf. Her and my son are BFF's. They love to kiss each other <3

Pookie is my long haired grey kitty. She was my first pet. I adopted her from a local shelter when she was a kitten. She isn't a lap cat but she loves to be pet so much that she drools lol.

Briscoe is my orange boy kitty. I adopted him from a local rescue when he has a kitten. He is a big friendly guy and he always makes fast friends with the cats we foster (4 cats and 1 dog so far that we've fostered).

Esme is my brown tabby foster cat. I've been fostering her for a few months. She is a lap cat now but she was terrified when she first got here. Her and her kittens were feral before the rescue took them in.

Alice is the daughter of Esme. She's a brown tabby too. She is still a little shy but she's warmed up a lot since she got here. She hid in my basement for the first 3 days here. Her brothers and sisters were all adopted already. Her and Esme were adopted once too but the lady returned them :(

I'm not familiar with Kat Von D tattoo liner but I LOVE Milani Infinite liquid eyeliner. DON'T get the felt tip pen because it's garbage, but the brush one works really well. It's not the easiest to apply but you get the hang of it once the brush has been used a bit. (When I get a new bottle I'll actually transfer the old brush over. Not sure how sanitary it is but ehh). This stuff is AMAZING. For whatever reason my eyes can't do non-waterproof makeup because it smudges like crazy within an hour. This eyeliner though? I can be bawling my eyes out and still have my eyeliner in tact (as long as you're not rubbing your eyes too hard.) I go tubing and wakeboarding and swimming in it and it doesnt budge. If it does come off, it's due to rubbing it really hard and it flakes off rather than smudges. You will NOT get raccoon eyes from this stuff. I swear by this eyeliner I've used it for about 7 years. There might be better eyeliners out there at higher price points, but as far as inexpensive liquid eyeliner, this one's a winner! Milani Infinite Liquid Eyeliner

Hey! Thanks for this awesome contest!

  1. My favorite movie is The Dark Knight. I am a die-hard batman fan, and I cosplay as Harley Quinn :3 http://i.imgur.com/ZgVwqKM.jpg Wee! I am entering for myself, I am very new to the makeup realm because I grew up in a super conservative home life. No makeup, hair stuff, or flashy clothing. But I love it now that I'm out of the, it's so much fun and I'm having fun expressing myself. It would be really nice to have more since I'm quite limited c:

Mmmm Strawberry bubblegum. Arguably the best flavor.

I could really use something like thisto organize my makeup, but it is an add on item, and you're purchase may not be over $25. In which case I really need a new gel liner.
Thanks for the contest, lovely! :)

I have never used the vamp stamp, but have heard good things about it.

I have gotten a similar product, the kiss eyeliner stencil, that is less expensive and in my opinion excellent. It has 6 different wing stencils that go from simple to extreme wing. Also it is really simple to use and easy to match.

OMG you're right! Sorry! I have a blue felt tip liner by Chella ChellaIndigoLiner !

It goes on SO lovely it's almost like a marker, the way it applies is almost exactly like a crayola marker in the best kind of way lol. It's not craaazy blue, I don't usually go for bright since it washes out my eyes but I really really like it. It works well for most eye colors!

Nellie Bly!

> Nellie Bly may be the most recognized name on this list, but she was born Elizabeth Cochran. Her adventures came about due to her work for the New York World paper. This was the age of ‘stunt’ journalism, and Bly’s first report was to be an exposé of a women’s lunatic asylum. Pretending to be demented, Bly was admitted and experienced the lot of the patients confined on the island. The food was rancid, the nurses brutal, and the asylum hardly fit for humans. The article she wrote was a breakthrough in investigative journalism, and led to reform for mental hospitals. Her next adventure was one that brought her worldwide fame. Bly undertook a challenge to make a trip around the world in a time faster than Phileas Fogg’s eighty days. She set out with a special passport signed by the Secretary of State, on November 14, 1889. Her voyage started in seasickness but would end in triumph. In France, she met Jules Verne, who thought she might manage the trip in 79 days, but never the 75 she hoped. Having steamed across seas, gone through the Suez Canal, seen Colombo and Aden, visited a Chinese leper colony and bought a Monkey, Bly made it back to New York in a time of 72 days, 6 hours and 11 minutes.

This was my first thought. Something like this blue liquid liner is what I had in mind; I have this pen and it comes off as a very pretty deep, royal blue. It's subtle enough not to overtake the eye, but gives just the right pop of colour. Blue liner works great to wake up tired eyes as well.

Edit: formatting on mobile is not my friend.

u/yallabangbang · 2 pointsr/sugarfreemua

So I SUCK at winged eyeliner so I went on amazon and bought this eyeliner stamp and it’s like the best thing ever. I think the shape will go well with your eyes. It comes with two one for the right and one for the left and they both have normal liner pens on the other side from the stamp. I use the stamp and go over it with my nyx liner. But seriously try it!!!

I actually got it as a gift for my sailor moon-obsessed friend and it's actually really good! I've heard people compare it to the KVD tattoo liner and I think I agree. It's slightly more expensive than the KVD liner on amazon but tbh for how good it is it's a steal compared to the rest of the sailor moon makeup out there.
