Ah, okay! Well, /u/snowwhiteandthepear's favorites should work well for you (see previous comment link) and the Dr. Jart BB I mentioned is pink-neutral. As for powders and concealers, I like a translucent power made up of plain spherical cut silicone like this one from RMS Beauty or the Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder or Mineral Pact. A nice light makeup primer might be Etude House Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base in Berry Choux or perhaps Peach Choux if you're looking for a bit of color correcting. As for concealers, my favorite is The Face Shop Face&it Radiance Concealer Dual Veil in NB17. This apparently was a "blind test" favorite on Korean beauty show Get It Beauty and comes with both a liquid concealer for undereye and a thicker stick concealer for blemishes. I find using a brush is best with the stick concealer as it is very high coverage.

Start with these three simple things:

  1. Liquid Foundation (https://www.amazon.com/Maybelline-New-York-Foundation-Packaging/dp/B001Q8568G/ref=sr_1_3_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1466479185&sr=1-3&keywords=liquid+foundation)

  2. A brush to apply the Liquid Foundation (https://www.amazon.com/EcoTools-1202-Flat-Foundation-Brush/dp/B001KYVOJQ/ref=sr_1_13_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1466479200&sr=1-13&keywords=liquid+foundation+brush)

  3. A powder foundation (https://www.amazon.com/Maybelline-New-York-Poreless-Porcelain/dp/B00PFCSNWK/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1466479234&sr=1-1&keywords=powder+foundation) and this includes a pad brush inside of it.

You apply the (1) liquid foundation to your face very evenly with (2) the brush (especially around your eyes) and then 'set' it with the (3) powder foundation by just tapping it all around your face until you can't see any of the shine from the liquid foundation anymore. Good luck!! And welcome to the makeup club; you're in for life. :P

P.S. it's called a 'foundation' because it's meant to cover up your whole face and make it look perfect. Once you get good at this, you can move on to more fun things but this will make you look nice :)

I use an inexpensive primer I found on Amazon that I like better than Smashbox called Emori, not sure if it's AB or not.

My current routine (this is one week after I got the giant Tarte box with everything) is typically Skinfood Salmon concealer (my favorite concealer so far, creamier but stays, ousted Boiing), Aqua Petit Jelly BB in the lighter version- usually I use my fingers or one of those toothbrush brushes), Peripera or Etude tints as I mentioned with my ulta tinted balm, the TonyMoly powder which as I said blew me away, I have eyelash extensions so nothing there, and I have a cushion blush in a tube that I like a lot but I just got the other powder blush I mentioned. I also have and like the Missha cushion, but I like Aqua Petit Jelly more.

Waiting on this because I love this brand, it's a cotton candy setting spray?

Sorry that wasn't more enlightening but it has links :) I was just surprised to be AS entranced by AB makeup as I am by AB skincare because I was a MUA for a long time and have always been a product junkie and now I use my stupid expensive stuff on days I'm not going anywhere :O

ETA: I really have to check into eyeshadows now. I've kind of hit a wall because my whole face is handled, and I do want one of those TonyMoly bunny glosses!

  1. I am lusting after this, for a finishing powder than doesn't make my face look cakey!
  2. This has been my favorite song lately. Nelson Mandela is a huge inspiration to me and many others, and this song is for him. I have so much respect for him for what he has gone through, decades of prison, fighting for what was right, and that he continues to fight for both his country and his life. South Africa is an amazing place, and even more so amazing because of what he fought for.
  3. I love all of you and I hope you feel better soon, Rose!
  4. Is this fast enough? =D

  1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Revlon

  2. Face: Rimmel stay matte pressed powder in natural

eyes: Wet n Wild Eyeshadow trio in Silent treatment

lips: Revlon super lustrous lipgloss in Pango Peach

  3. Wet n Wild mascaras because they are so flakey and just... everything about them sucks

  4. $.99 lipsticks by wet n wild!

  5. I have no idea hahaha. Probably my neutrogena shine control foundation

  6. Anything by Physician's Formula! THAT SHIT IS EXPENSIVE

  7. I don't use high end makeup so I have no idea :/

  8. Revlon Lip Butters. They're nice, but they aren't worth $8

  9. Blushes from Physician's Formula and more of Revlon's lippies

  10. I would DIE to have this If it is too pricey then... this would be great

    I Heart Drugstore Makeup!!

Yep, same here! I'm almost finished with my first month. My derm said it is fairly normal, especially since I have very fair skin already and I have mild rosacea. Some days it doesn't happen at all, some days I'm the color of a tomato all day, and some days I'm only flushed for about an hour immediately following taking the pill. I don't really know of anything to combat the actual flushing, but I'm a female and I've just found a really full coverage foundation so I don't really notice/worry about it during the day. Maybe a bit of green powder would help if you're worried about the color? I just try to tell myself that it's happening because the medication is working, and that's a good thing- good luck!!

u/heyheynikki · 2 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

bananas !

I absolutely love my L'Oreal Paris True Match Powder because it looks really natural and not cake-y. I also have a lot of trouble finding powders that aren't too dark or yellow for me, but they have a great range :)

u/oleandel · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Sound like we have the same problem. I have really oily skin, and the grease had been a struggle since my teenage years, until I decided to try Maybelline oil control powder. Been using it for years. And recently I found a new gem, it's the "the balm sexy mama translucent oil control powder" from amazon. It works really well with absorbing oil. Added bonus, it's got a classic sexy packaging ;) http://www.amazon.com/Balm-Anti-Shine-Translucent-Powder-Ounce/dp/B001AC1YT8

u/TheSkinnyAmerican · 0 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

Nooooooooooooooooooo I took all my Stila off a while ago trying to slim down my wishlist, then added it back this morning at work whilst on an amazonian rampage! D: but thank you for doing this! This is sooooo nice of you :)
P.S. if you do happen to have these particular products and by the end nobody requests them, I would loveeeeeeee to have them ;) [here] (http://www.amazon.com/Stila-Shadow-Compact-Kitten-Ounce/dp/B004VQTUVE/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=337XGNTAUQ2R8&coliid=I155EWQJAT6NHY), [here] (http://www.amazon.com/Stila-Garden-Bliss-Palette-Ounce/dp/B004TSB5EY/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=337XGNTAUQ2R8&coliid=IAZN4GY7CZUPE), [here] (http://www.amazon.com/Stila-Eye-Shadow-Trio-Ethereal/dp/B004BDVG5K/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=337XGNTAUQ2R8&coliid=I1FXA3HNZRMVRU), and [here] (http://www.amazon.com/Stila-Cosmetics-Know-Palette-Ounce/dp/B008852UUM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=337XGNTAUQ2R8&coliid=IXP4B3MDEMNXM) ;) but I'm at the bottom of the list for being an idiot :P

Have you ever tried the innisfree no sebum Powder? I’ve never tried the soap and glory one, but I really enjoy this one. It helps my oily skin a lot. They have a pressed and loose powder version - I like both. I highly recommend it if you want to try something different!

These are drugstore examples of powders that everyone is referring to. When you put the corrector on, it's a cream just sitting on your skin. These powders help set the cream so it doesn't feel sticky/tacky, but more skin like. Also helps prevent the corrector/foundation/concealer, basically any cream product, from rubbing off. It's especially helpful to hide the green cast the corrector will leave on your skin. You don't need a lot, just use the corrector, then dust a little bit of powder on top until you 1. Don't see green and 2. You skin doesn't feel tacky/sticky where your put the corrector.

Guy here as well. Some things I've found help:

  • Make sure you wash your pillowcase regularly / also sanitize your phone screen.
  • Get an electric razor and try to shave less often (like every other day).
  • If you do shave with a normal razor, use the drugstore disposable ones for sensitive skin. Switch to a new one once the blade becomes dull / rusty / gnarly.
  • Use a shaving cream designed for sensitive skin. Try and avoid ones with scent or Lavendar oil, which can clog pores.
  • After cleansing (assuming you wash your face at least 1x a day), apply toner (this helps rebalance the pH of your skin). This EVENPRIME one has ingredients like Niacinamide that help with pore size and blemishes.
  • Try tea tree oil and calamine lotion as a spot treatment at night. Etude House makes a really good one. Just dip in a cue-tip.
  • Oh, and make sure to exfoliate 2 times a week with a chemical exfoliant. The popular ones are The Ordinary Glycolic Acid toner (note: this has toner in the name, but is different than the EP one since it's an exfoliant and should be used sparingly) or NeoGen's wine gauze pads.

I know another commenter mentions Differin, but I had been using Differin for years and actually found it made problems worse. Once I switched off retinols, I suddenly had the best skin of my life. Also, switched off drugstore acne products – they're too harsh for skin. Make sure your face wash is pH-balanced too. Either use CeraVe Hydrating Facial cleanser or a Korean one like the EVENPRIME cleanser (which can help soothe redness).

If all else fails, you can try Curology. They have a subscription, but I actually found the bottle lasts forever if you use it as a targeted treatment. It can be a bit drying though so you'll need to use moisturizer and SPF.
u/HarleyQ · 3 pointsr/HarleyQuinn

For my Quinn make up I stopped using lip stick as it comes off super easy and in my opinion is too shiny. I started using black Ben Nye creme paint then when I'm done with my whole make up I use a Ben nye sealing spray, which is pretty much just hair spray for face paints.

A lot of girls also do a black and red mixture, with the upper lip being solid black, and the outer rim of the lower lip being black but using red in the center of the lower one. Like this, if you wanna do something like that Ben Nye also sells a black, red, and white color wheel here so if you wanna try both you wont have to buy a lot of different creme wheels.

Another piece of advice is that when taking off creme face paints using Vaseline and paper towels first works amazing then after words use soapy water and a towel.

Using a lot of moisturizer helped me. I also take a BB cream (so, automatically a lighter coverage) and squirt some in my hand and then squirt some of my normal moisturizer in and this thins it out even more, but sort of... evens everything. When I want to look nice I just use the BB cream. I have a foundation and it looks fine, it just feels too heavy.

Then I use this Trudy stuff "like a bronzer" https://www.amazon.com/bareMinerals-All-Over-Face-Color-Trudy/dp/B003RBS4YI It's not a bronzer (I think the only difference is that it doesn't glisten) but it makes me stop looking like a vampire.

Also, the hormonal aspect CAN be helped. Grab a basal thermometer and an app like Kindara. Track your cycles and add acne as one of your custom things to track. Eventually, after many months (sorry, acne is hard work), if it's hormonally related, you'll see where in your cycle it starts. A day or two BEFORE it starts, do extra acne treatments. Baby your face. I doubt I have acne like you do (I don't get "all over" stuff that people who usually complain about their acne are referring to), but I do get one. massive. giant. pimple. Every ovulation and every period. The ovulation one I have it under control, and the period one is not under control only because around when I need to baby my face, I'm neck deep in chocolate ice cream and PBS period dramas.

I got mine on Amazon. It's seriously a huge container, and totally worth the money.

I just dip my kabuki in it, pat it out, and BAM.

Figured it was something like India Earth makeup powder. Often saw this in cosmetic catalogs from the 1980s.

It's the Mineral Pact one, which is white, but it goes on translucent. I didn't notice much of a cast!
