Nice!

I mentioned it briefly above, but I'll repeat it here since you'll likely appreciate it ;)

I have started using those 6qt sterilite boxes (8 or $8 at walmart), and since they're roughly shoe-box sized, I also got a giant rolling shoe rack (I measured and tried several, this one perfectly fits the cheapy walmart 6qt sterilite boxes with a tiny bit of friction-fit) to hold them all. So now when I'm in the "collecting" phase of a new project, I can write a label on the box in wet erase, and then add all the pieces in as I get them, and then if I ever get around to working on it, everything is right in one spot. It really helps a lot with the problem of "lots of projects in progress at once", because I have a dedicated space to store each project and it keeps everything together and out of the way.

Next step will be to find a place for some larger "project boxes" for items that won't fit in that small of space. Sterilite has these 4 shelf cabinets that used to be in this lovely tan color that fit in reasonably well indoors, but unfortunately they stopped making that color, and now they make it this awful flat grey color that looks bad anywhere except the garage... and I wouldn't want to use it outside because the dark color would cook anything you put into it.

So imgur shows my set up. And the type of rack I want to switch out on top. I zipped tied two plate holders to the top rack, though like I said I want to switch it out. The rack comes with 4 shelves, I could technically fit the extra one in my kitchen, but then I couldn’t stand plates. My sink is 33 inches wide (83,82 cm) and the rack is 36 inches (91.44 cm). It works great!

Any more questions?

I have enough shelving now, but when I was in school I had a cheap shoe rack like this one. Another great option for space saving is an over the door rack.

I would put a freestanding hall tree against the wall beside the door or floating along the carpet line. Coat racks are fussy and I think you'll need something substantial as the kids grow up. Plus, you can usually add a lower second row of hooks (that kids can easily reach) on anything with a reinforced backboard.

Don't set the hall tree on the tile because your walkway is very narrow. Get one with built in storage so there is a place for the bags to sit on top and baskets underneath for accessories. This won't be used as seating, just bag and accessory storage. Open baskets on a shelf work best, no more than 2/3 of the shelf height so a hand can grab something inside without too much hassle.

Here's an open style with plenty of shelves for storing accessories:
HOMYSHOPY Entryway Hall Tree with Removable Hooks, Storage Shelves and Bench, Multipurpose Coat Rack for Hallway, Vintage Brown https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PR8LHVK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_artQDbX5XJG9W

Here are two more traditional ones that might work:
Crosley Furniture Seaside Hall Tree - Distressed White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MG6URP0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FstQDbTC40RPM

Linon 76063ANT01U Santa Fe Hall Tree, 40" W x 17.99" D X 64.02" H, Natural https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010PBECF2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_yttQDbMR8HG1X

Remove the coat hooks from the wall and line stacked shoe storage along the short wall, maybe a tray next to them since men's shoes and winter boots don't always fit the dimensions anyhow. Plus, it just looks tidy and is a good reminder for where shoes are allowed to go. I recommend keeping all shoe storage open because you want to keep your system painless for children or newcomers to use.

Personally, I like shoe shelves that aren't just the skinny bars because small shoes and heels don't stay on easily.

To match the first hall tree, 1 or two of these depending on space:

Different styles:

Boot tray options, but take measurements first:

Hudson Exchange 4010 Waterhog Classic Boot Tray, 34" L x 15" W, 3/8" Thick, Medium Brown https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TT8ESRK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mDtQDbHGWT34G

I would move the wood bench either behind the floating hall tree, floating in front of the hall tree against the wall, or along the wall by the other doorway if it stays in this area at all. You might need to play around with a few layouts and see what works, and if course measure and verify that everything works for you. The examples I linked are not vetted, only style suggestions and they might come in different sizes and quality ratings from other sellers.

Unfortunately you're not going to find a purpose-built stand. Your situation is pretty rare, so there's not a huge market for it. You could google "wall-mounted PC" to see some inspiration for how to mount it in a way that looks nice. Most/all of these involve making some kind of custom bracket.

The alternative would be to do something janky like the GPU miners do, and ziptie it to a cheap shoe rack or something.

Hey guys, I was thinking about getting a standing revolving "shoe-tree" like this, but I was wondering if there was a way to achieve the same benefits of a shoe-tree while conserving space with your collection of shoes. It doesn't seem to have a toe or anything to help the shoe keep its shape.

I saw this on Amazon, and while it doesn't have a built-in shoe-tree structure, I was wondering what you guys thought:

u/eagereyes · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I put my heels in these drop front boxes on the shelf above my clothes. In the floor of my closet I have 2 milk crates stacked on top of each other for sandals and tennis shoes. On either side of those I have shelves similar to these. These are good for keeping them all visible but organized.

I used to have a revolving shoe tree that worked well for a while. It's better for tennis shoes, not so much flats and heels in my experience.

u/apoclater · 2 pointsr/goodyearwelt

Try some of these. I have built-in cubbies that are much taller than they are wide, and used to store shoes side by side and oftentimes on top of one another. When I got these, I could put two pair in a cubby and they fit all of my shoes without dinging the other ones and it looks very neat.

u/pre55ure · 1 pointr/synthesizers

Someone in a different thread posted this

I don't have one, but they were apparently happy with it. Might not be able to get quite the angle you want though.

u/JasterMereel42 · 1 pointr/Woodworkingplans

OP here. I've done a bit of searching and I found Option 1 and Option 2 from Amazon. They are the style that I'm looking for, but I want them bigger and better. I do like the idea of having cabinet doors instead of drawers. That way, I can make the shelves adjustable in case I have lots of boots or lots of flip flops.

u/Theopneusty · 4 pointsr/Sneakers

Amazon has some cheap shoe shelves that have a cloth cover to prevent dust that are like $25 and hold like 36 shoes (if you put one shoe from each pair facing the opposite direction

This shoe rack! It's $18.00 plus $8.49 shipping. I'm so tired of trying to put my shoes away (the only place being the bottom of the closet,) then he walks all over them like they're not even there. I mean seriously, who can walk over the top of a pair of tall leather boots, Skechers, or fancy high heels like they're not even there?!? He's already broken the heel off of a cheaper pair of heels. If he does it to an expensive pair, I'll have to break him. THere's just no two ways about it. MadAtHubby will become GrievingHubby. Thanks for the contest!!

I have an old shoe rack similar to [this] (http://www.amazon.com/Seville-Classics-3-Tier-Expandable-Steel/dp/B00O4WPYA6/ref=sr_1_39?s=storageorganization&ie=UTF8&qid=1462503122&sr=1-39) that I use for mine. Can get them for pretty cheap from thrift stores or garage sales.

I bought one of these over two years and it’s still in great shape.

It’s a little flimsy but I fixed that by just supergluing the rods into their holes. Other than that, the thing is a rock and sturdy
