I've been using these which helped but the just aren't quite high enough. I absolutely adore the short tees though. Perfect for par 3's and 3 wood / hybrids for tee shots.

I agree with the other posters but if you are thinking multiple gifts you could get them a bag of tees (Pride Professional Tee System ProLength Plus Tee, 3-1/4 inch-135 Count Bag (Blue on Natural) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0055NRKLY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_gLnqybQTTVSGC) and a switchblade divot tool which are pretty sweet (Pitchfix Hybrid Divot Repair Tool Neon Yellow/blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0147BSVBC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_5MnqybDK830EM).

Two Suggestions:

To save a bit of cash, you can buy a mat "strip" and build a platform around it out of plywood and carpet scraps. I have the mat linked below and have used it every day for about 2 years. It's still in great shape:

My suggestion for tees to use on a mat:

5 bucks for peace of mind and consistency

Worked great for me thus far.

u/jespern · 2 pointsr/golf

Yup. Just played 'em today, great tees, very durable.

my protip: buy a 100 pack of natural golf tees, a nice rounded tamping end and a handy pointy end all in one. gets gunky? toss it and grab another. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004JAK89A/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1422139351&sr=8-1&dpPl=1&dpID=41sP5GIZ0%2BL&ref=plSrch&pi=AC_SY200_QL40

Uniform, level surface with guaranteed consistency. I use the mats for working on my driver/woods and bring one of these with me so that I can use real tees.

I also like the mats when working on shorter chips and wanting to just dial in a groove and work on the consistency of my short chip/punch stroke. I like the grass when working on longer pitches and irons up to full iron shots.

My local grass area isn't particularly flat so it doesn't really emulate being on a tee box very well. They also don't keep the grass short enough to emulate the fairway. It's more of a "first cut" grass length.

These are my goto:

Pride Professional Tee System Plastic Golf Tees (Pack of 50), 40 Count 2-3/4-Inch + 10 Count 1-1/2-Inch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BIZPXVM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_4LqSDb7S2GPRM

The little ones are the best. Damn near impossible to break. And the longer ones rarely do. I put 2 long ones and a short one in my pocket to start a round and usually put them all back in my bag at the end.

I started using the "GolfChannel tees". They're not cheap and you only get three driver tees, but man they are MUCH, MUCH better.

eBay and amazon bags up to 1000 count of them.

If I had to guess (Mobile) they’re Pride Performance. Are yours plastic ?

like these?

u/professor_throway · 0 pointsr/PipeTobacco

Have you considered an aluminum golf tee. They are pretty cheap.

I bought these cocktail tees https://www.amazon.com/Martini-Durable-Plastic-5-Pack-Assorted/dp/B071GRNXJ4 and I have used the same tee (use it for driver only) for at least 40 rounds. Its been to Vegas twice, NY twice and I use it every round 1-2 times a week.

Highly, highly recommend it.

Putt out training aid

Club cleaning tool/groove sharpener

Premium golf balls

Putting mirror

My favorite idea - A "lifetime" supply of golf tees (2 boxes of 1,000)

u/svengeiss · 3 pointsr/golf

It allows you to set your own tee height.

like this

Most ranges I go to have rubber tees that are too short or too tall. This allows me to set it to the height I want. Just don’t forget it at the range like I did once.

u/robertr1 · 1 pointr/golf

I think people are just stealing them. I ended up buying a rubber tee thing that lets you put a real tee in it. It's really nice to have. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07414K214/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_fMC3CbS98YPXW
