Looks a lot like this

Should be able to find it other places, it's fairly generic.

Some of you asked for a parts list. It's actually pretty basic...

MakerBeam XL Regular Starter Kit black anodized including beams, brackets, nuts and bolts https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XHXJSVL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_vMZ5Cb2CG8ZQ0

Sorry. I realized I just bought the last one, but they should have more soon.

USB C Hub, 5 in 1 Multi Port Type... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076KFDFYJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I'm using this hub and a second regular hub since I was short one port. I just ordered a different one and will report if I like it more.

USB C Extension Cable, HUIRID... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079DM661R?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Try to avoid this cable though. It only works one way and it always seems to be the second way I plug it in.

Other than that just the Rift, x56, and chair.

Those cheap caps look like these, but I could be wrong. Depending on where you live it is usually a better practice to isolate the wood posts from the concrete footing. I suppose that in a more arid place you could get away with burying the posts in concrete, but where I live they would rot in less than 5 years. I agree that a footing is a good idea. I've seen several failures were someone use these style post bases on a regular 4" slab and didn't stand up to high winds. The bolt needs to be embedded in more than 4" concrete.

Umm, is the only thing holding those lower stair railing posts to the stringer those simple little metal brackets? That's a HUGE problem. Imagine someone leaning or falling hard on that post. It's a lever. It's going to tear those brackets off with ease, and then the whole railing is going to come down, along with the person.

You need threaded bolts going through the post into the stringer, and then ideally into tension tie down bracket:

Follow the code.

I'm also glad you pack heat, but buy some quality body armor too. It makes the difference between surviving an attack, and not.

As home invasions go, you can buy these door braces and install with long lag bolts. Also look up metal or plastic storm shutters for your windows and install those, and that should cover some basic protection.

In your particular career and considering where you work, you may as well be patrolling in Kandahar Province.

  • Link to the STL file for mounting the Pis to the DIN rail.
  • Raspberry Pi 3B+ on the left with a PoE hat
  • Raspberry Pi 4 4GB on the right with a PoE hat
  • The fans are a bit loud, but it's not within earshot so it's not an issue for me.
  • Link to the DIN rackmount (kinda crappy but cheaper than the others)
