I got 60 when I bought mine and I'm currently using about half those. Buying in bulk tends to be cheaper over time as well. The ones I carry on me as "just in case" tubes haven't gotten pretty cloudy due to scratches and oxidation and a few have even cracked a bit just from being carried around constantly. I think I've managed to straight up lose two of them to top if all off. Not a terrible investment and they can be used for other things as well.

Here is what I'd probably get in your case OP. I'd soak them in soapy water and thoroughly wash them out first before I'd use them. This one is pretty good as well if you're not looking for any large species like camponotus. Down side to these would be they're a little small in terms of diameter so they wont really plug and play with most formicariums you can buy.

Personally I'd go with the first option. Its pretty proven and the smaller tubes will probably run out of water quicker. Oh, and its a lot easier to get queens into a larger test tube. I really need to get some larger containers for captures.

Look on amazon if it's available to you - not super expensive

Also, just saw amazon has tube racks as well which would be AWESOME for short term product storage in a hotel/gues bathroom throws money at screen

Had no idea what a nunc cryotube was, but after some Google/Amazon-fu, I do believe you got me on the right track! Probably looking at something like a 50mL centrifuge tube (like this one ). Guess I'm need to first determine what the volume my "single serving" is and scale up as needed.

Would it be easier to keep things separate and use single serve creamer/sweetener from the store? Yes, but I'm also trying to keep my waste by-products down and go re-usable wherever possible.

Thanks for helping me get on the right track!

I only found one older post similar to this from months ago, so sorry if something like this was posted recently and I missed it.

Finally got around to getting my SMD components organized in a useful and convenient way...All of my small sectional storage boxes were getting full and those things get expensive/take up way too much space...I was also annoyed at needing to keep components stored in their sections of tape to keep them from slipping through cracks into other sections...The obvious solution: Test tubes! Compact, easy to label and move around, easy to dispense from and very cheap!

Now, these are what I ordered:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CSWFMOC/

A word of caution however...There is a reason I left gaps between the sections...While it is supposed to be a set of 90 tubes and caps, I only received 87 tubes and about 77 caps...Reading the reviews, it seems this is common...For ~$17 though I am not terribly upset and not going to bother trying to get it corrected.

What I usually do is take the J Herbin bottles and dump the contents directly into a 50 ml sample vial (Amazon). This way I don't have to limit myself to bottles that are actually designed with the use case in mind.

If you love Perle Noir, then this is an inexpensive way to keep using it effectively.

EDIT: As a bonus, J Herbin labels peel fairly nicely, allowing them to be transferred directly on to the vial.

Here a link to the shorter bowl on Amazon

Here is the elbow Chem-Si Glass Elbow Adapter 18mm Male Frosted Glass https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M8F35LM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_NyMUCbSN5ZPGC

Watch some videos on elbow packing but there's really nothing to it. Let your extreme q preheat for like 10 minutes before you use it for best results.

You will want to get some 1 inch screens too

If you’re looking for a specific product, I’ve purchased a couple packages of borosilicate test tubes that work super well and would work wonderfully in this.

I have 2 packs of these.

See if you can find something like these and this. The test tube rack fits on my scale just fine. I use the 8 ml tubes but they go much higher. Be sure to match up the diameter of the rack holes and tubes. Inexpensive, reusable , quick and efficient.

This one isn't too expensive and very simple. [Here] (https://smile.amazon.com/SEOH-TEST-TUBE-POLYETHYLENE-tubes/dp/B0019ZYABK/ref=sr_1_3?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1518467632&sr=1-3&keywords=test+tube+rack&dpID=215SC-h8c2L&preST=_QL70_&dpSrc=srch) I tried to link it so if you do make a purchase from that link amazon will even make a donation to Best Friends Animal Society.

You can also buy in bulk but its also worth it with the api liquid kit, on amazon some water transfer pippets and test tubes to make things easier with many tests at once.

What do y'all think of these centrifuge tubes? I'm getting ready to do my first DIY order. These are cheap, should be easier to clean than a boston round shape, and you can even buy racks for them very cheaply:

I got one off of amazon. Here’s the link The fit is a bit loose, but it’s manageable. I love mine and use it daily.

For rest stir storage I just moved all of mine into plastic test tubes this weekend. It took me a few hours to separate them from the paper strips, label the tubes, and out all the resistors into them but it was totally worth it. They were $10 from Amazon (Hicarer 50 Pieces Clear Plastic Test Tubes 12 by 75 mm with Push Caps, 5 ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074V7T8HJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_F6ZZAbFE5GYX9)

u/roboto6 · 2 pointsr/bettafish

I got these. I use a 5ml syringe (like what you use to dose kids liquid meds) to measure out water from my tanks into those test tubes.

My only tip would be, the lids can be a bit fussy, make sure the top inside liner is flush to the top (poke it down if it isn't) and they'll screw on better.

u/Bomb_135 · 2 pointsr/modelmakers

Vallejo paints are acrylics which behave differently in an airbrush than enamels. Acrylics dry much faster.

To answer your question, Vallejo model color paints are great to brush paint and airbrush. If you want to airbrush then you should add some Vallejo thinner to it. The paint is very concentrated so you won't need much.

The other pack is model air which is specially designed for airbrushing. So you won't need thinner for it. It can also brush paint fine so i have heard. (I only own model color)

You are saying that you are wasting paint because it is hard to get the paint out of the tin into the airbrush. I am assuming you just pour out of the tin, why not just buy some Pipettes and save yourself £60. I have seen packs of 100 pipettes for around £5.

u/taydaygrim · 3 pointsr/vulvodynia

I bought them straight from my PT so unfortunately I don’t have a link but here are similar to what I have! The important part is the rounded bottom- it also depends on how large you can fit. These are slightly larger than my middle finger for reference.

u/MacJointHead · 3 pointsr/vaporents

Someone on here the other day told me about using their WPA as a bowl and I have to admit it is my goto now. You would think it would be hotter since it is shorter but it’s actually cool and extremely flavorful. I call it my snubnose

This is the one I got off Amazon

Really nice! I thought you probably put an inverted test tube up through and above the base before the resin pour in order to get that much light inside.

In labs, we used to use tiny plastic things called transfer pipettes for this sort of thing, like these: https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Plastic-Liquids-Pipetting-Pipette/dp/B00N3Y0BFE

They come in different sizes. https://www.amazon.com/Lab-Pipettes/b?ie=UTF8&node=318122011
