I LOVE my Clarisonic. I know there are mixed reviews here, but I work in gross-ass theaters/outside/am sweaty, in addition to living in NYC and I wanna be clean.

Balm's Away makes waterproof/long wear anything wash right away.

Purity cleanser is another culty thing, but seriously, melts off make up, without that gross stripped feeling. And it smells nice.

Skinceuticals C E Ferulic in the AM and Nude Treatment Oil at night have made huge strides in not only my moisture level, but also my gross cystic acne scars. Without my face looking like an oil slick/aggravating my sensitive/acne-prone skin.

CeraVe In The Tub is as good as everyone says

Korres Wild Rose Brightening Eye Cream is MAGIC if you have dark circles. MAGIC.

Origins Clear Improvements is my go to "I'm going out and don't want people to see my SF's" mask. It sucks everything out (and brings lurkers to a head), and makes me look flawless, at least for the day.

hope that helps :)

  • Hipitch Cleansing Oil - I use this all the time and find it similar to the DHC oil, just with a different scent (almost orange-y) and much cheaper at around 500-700 yen. You can also buy refill packs and reuse the bottle.
  • Moist Diane Oil Shampoo & Conditioner, Moroccan Argan Oil version (Dark Pink Bottles) - I picked this up on a whim in Japan and it was quite nice. I ran out about a year ago but now that I can buy it again I think I will.
  • Sarafit/Skin Aqua Sunscreens - I've tried several of them and I have liked them all. They are generally cheaper than the Biore ones and feel very similar.
  • Kao Megurism/Megurhythm (spelling depends on translation) Steam Eye Masks - These are one time use eye masks that heat up over your eyes and "steam" them to relax and rest your eyes. I've since moved on and picked up a Panasonic Este in 2014 which I love.
  • Pain patches with Felbinac (フェルビナク) - Pain patches are one of the things I miss the most from Japan. The ones that work the best for me are ones with Felbinac. I use them for any kind of muscle or joint pain. They work better for me than advil, tylenol or aleve. They also work well for me since I have colitis and I am limited on what pain killers I can take internally. They generally come in 70mg & 35mg. I love them!
  • Santen brand eye drops - There are all sorts of kinds but I particularly like the FX Neo ones. They definitely aren't for everyone though since they have a cooling effect which lots of people don't like. They also make PC eye strain drops.

One of my favourite things about a lot of Japanese products is that you can buy refill packs which are generally pretty cheap and save from wasting as much plastic. :)

Also, when buying Japanese sunscreen, the small (usually cheap) bottles that come in red or blue versions generally mean hot (red) and cool (blue) sensations have been added. This can cause irritation on the skin if sensitive and bother your eyes. I tend to use the cool versions and only on my body, not my face. They also tend to have a higher alcohol content. They are super handy to throw in your purse though!

I'm trying to put together some more detailed reviews on a blog with pictures so I will post those once I get some time to put them together. :)

I just started biking to work. While I don't get fully sweaty, my face gets hot! And all of my skincare melts off. So I decided to make a mini backup kit to use for riding to work and the gym (when I go).

I optimized for small size for my mini kit - save a few things that are regular size. I had added the Milk Makeup Serum to my travel bag last year, and loved it! So I was stoked with the additional minis.

Here is the summary:

They're Real! is such a pain to get off. I just used the Balms Away and here's what I can say as an initial reaction: In the pan it looks like (solid) coconut oil, and kind of feels that way as well. It took my eyeliner and shadow right off and took off my lipstick (Sephora cream lip stain) right off. The lip stain is sometimes a little stubborn, but it slid right off with the cotton round. As far as the mascara, I had on Clump Crusher (non-waterproof) and I would say it worked pretty well. I don't really like using makeup remover on my lashes, because it always seems like it's hard to cut through the product, but Balms Away did pretty well. I think that if I used more product on my lashes that I'd have a better result. After I used the Balms Away on my eyes and lips, I used CVS makeup remover wipes on the rest of my face, and there was no oily residue left over. I hope that helps. I think that just washing your face with a regular face wash after would give the same result.

If you don't like oily makeup removers, I have used The Body Shop's Chamomile Gentle Makeup remover and it's completely oil free. But I don't think it's super effective at cutting through tough stuff like They're Real!

I found a Face Halo knockoff at TJMaxx that worked effortlessly to take my cleansing oil and makeup off. There are dupes on Amazon, too: https://www.amazon.com/Coshine-Makeup-Removal-Removing-Cleaning/dp/B07DN76Z86/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=face+halo&qid=1572836461&sr=8-3

I like this type of cleansing cloth better than the mini towel-types I've tried before. There's more "grip", and more control. Maybe this would help you feel better following with a gentle cleanser since the first cleanse could be more effective!

And just to bombard you with more info, I clean makeup removing cloths/pads with Basis soap (same with my makeup brushes), because it is cheap, effective and gentle.

u/cia1120 · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

These make up removing wipes would be detrimental if I got stranded on a deserted island! I would use them to keep my face, hands, feet, and probably my downstairs mix up clean so things didn't get...dirty. No one likes sand in their vagina. Plus, if I do get rescued one day, it will allow me to clean up the potential raccoon eyes I may have from crying about being stranded on a deserted island. I may be a lost traveler, but I still gotta keep my game fresh.

Turtles are awesome! :) Thanks for the contest!

I bought some from etsy over a year ago but never used them much because they didn't wash well and all my toners slid off because the pads were not very absorbent. I recently decided to give them another go and bought these off Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H537SYT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I LOVE these so much more because they are the perfect size, absorbs the right amount of product, and washes perfectly! Both sides are usable

Lunasol is definitely out of college student budget ): back then, the most expensive I saw was $50 and now it's $80 for Tom Ford D: You managed to use up an entire Lunasol quad? claps I don't think I've ever finished an entire eyeshadow quad or palette! I have so much eyeshadow and keep buying more ;__;

Before Bifesta I used the Kose one in the pink bottle (softymo) and the Biore one and while they were better than the Western brands I've tried, they were just okay. I saw Bifesta as one of the top ranked cosme.net products and decided to give it a try on a whim and never turned back :) I should've bought more bottles in Japan! But man, lazy to carry everything around lol.

Between Heroine Kiss Me and MM mascaras, I def like MM more. I will nevarrr stray XD

For the makeup brushes, I was going to post a "family photo" on MUA and here and ask if people would be interested in starting a fude subreddit hahah. I have horrible lighting at home though ;_; I can try to take a nice photo. I didn't know Canmake has brushes! Yea, I want to see them!

u/gigantic_trex · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Are your "doctors" specialists? It sounds like you might need an actual ophthamologist.

Not sure what you're using to wash them, but OcuSoft Foaming Eyelid Cleanser is a great gentle foam specifically for eyelids. I really focus on cleansing my lash line before bed, and I'll sometimes put a thin layer of Vaseline or squalane on my eyelids before bed too.

I don't know for sure that it'd help, but it might be worth considering.

u/ChaoticForkingGood · 12 pointsr/Makeup

Just in case you might want to know... When I need to use a q-tip for fixing errors, I just use these. You get a lot for $15, and they're super easy to use. You just snap one end, and the makeup remover flows into the other tip. You won't have to worry about getting q-tips and remover out and messing with all that, and you won't have to lick another q-tip ever again! I love these things. They're awesome.

u/MichaelBoltOns · 1 pointr/EdgingTalk

Neither.
I use Albolene. It's a makeup remover that you can buy at like WallGreens Pharmacy in the Beauty Care Section.

Its primary ingredients are: Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, and Beta Carotene.

Seriously... Someone mentioned this stuff deep in the bowls of www.jackinworld.com re: Sex Toys and/or Lube Recipes that you can make from household items. One person basically said that there was some kind of "Gooning Organization" in New York and everyone swears by it because it repels precum and you can jerk with it for hours upon hours and as long as you occasionally wipe away any precum... you'll never rub yourself raw.

If you want to check it out... this is what it looks like:
https://www.amazon.com/Albolene-Moisturizing-Cleanser-6-Ounce/dp/B000L1AY3G/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1487338187&sr=1-1&keywords=albolene

Also... they recently started making a version of it specifically for removing eye makeup... and in my opinion, it's even better than the original [travel size FTW]
https://www.amazon.com/Albolene-Makeup-Remover-0-85-Ounce/dp/B01MTDHFK3/ref=pd_sim_194_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01MTDHFK3&pd_rd_r=W7BM5MPV7657K8M9V3GR&pd_rd_w=qhUpc&pd_rd_wg=2Euu6&psc=1&refRID=W7BM5MPV7657K8M9V3GR

I love Maybelline's Long 'n Soft. It's my HG mascara, super waterproof & quick drying, and only moderately annoying to remove :P Makeup removing wipes won't get it off, but an oil-based/waterproof-specific remover takes it off easily.

(My favorite removers: Avon and Neutrogena.
I gently rub them down my lashes with my fingertips, and do little circles at the root in an upward motion. Seems to work better for me than with cotton balls; I lose fewer lashes).

u/babedads · 7 pointsr/BeautyBoxes

I'm really happy with my PSMH Boutique box. I paid just under $30 with tax for ~$107 worth of products. I received two shipments, and the one containing the Pacifica wipes & Makeup Eraser Mini arrived nearly two weeks after the main box.

It looks like the sale is still going on if anyone is interested. Once you hit a value of $100, it should automatically deduct 75% from the total cost.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

If you're talking about eye make-up remover: I don't have any to give away, but after trying about 10 different brands (none of them really worked, I only use waterproof mascara) I finally found the perfect one for me. http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/images/B0013BL1BC/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=84230031&s=beauty Have you tried it? It's the best, and it's only 4.50$ or something.

So washing your face daily with soap is stripping the natural oils from your skin. Your skin reacts by going into over production mode to get the oil back.

Here’s what you do. Use oil instead of soap, like dissolves like.

Wash your hands and dry them. Apply 6-8 drops of oil on your fingers and work it into your (not wet) face. Wash away with water.

After a week of doing this, you’ll be amazed at the results. I used to come home from work looking like a grease pan, and I have an office job.

I use this:
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, 6.7 fl. oz & Deep Cleansing Oil Travel Size, 1 fl. oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XFXWJ1C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_RKlqDb2SQ2K0C

So I've been on spironolactone for about a month, and birth control for the last four. I don't get the acne I once did (mostly cystic) but the hormonal stuff around my jaw still hasn't completely gone away.

More pics

Here's my routine, folks:

------------------------------

Morning:

Cerave hydrating micellar water

Rinse

LaCura hydrating facial cleanser

Rinse and pat dry

Ponds correcting cream (just started this)

Cerave daily moisturizing lotion

Biore UV Perfect Face Milk SPF50+, PA++++ (but since I now know this has alcohol in it, I will be switching to La Roche-Posay's ultra-light fluid SPF 60 when it gets in)

------------------------------

Night:

Same as morning minus sunscreen

Baebody eye gel

Cerave skin renewing night cream

------------------------------

For the last couple months I have been using TO's AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling solution once a month for roughly ten minutes. Then I follow with my night routine minus the micellar water.

Do I need more exfoliation? Is there a serum I am missing? I drink water all day long! PLEASE HALP. Nothing seems to make my skin more even.

I think you'd like this iPhone case, since you like Harry Potter (and the Deathly Hallows symbol!).

From my wishlist: this since I'm almost out. :)

Feel better soon!

So I had ordered the Meishoku Ceracolla Perfect Gel from an Amazon vendor (Tokyo Emporium) and after waiting for a month, they sent me the wrong product. What I received is something called Komenuka Jyunmaisui Makeup It Wipes Off. It is a clear watery substance in a pump bottle. Here is the only link I can find for it.

Based on the name, I assume it is a makeup remover, but I have no idea how to use this. Is it like a micellar water or more like a cleansing oil? If anyone has heard or had any experience with this product, please let me know.

UPDATE: Okay, the mystery deepens. I found another link with this product and there it is called the Beauty Bran Pure Keratoplastic Rice Water (Wipe Lotion). There is no mention of it removing makeup at all on the description and it seems like it is a Ceramide Lotion? And is it for the face, body or both? So confused...

u/mikla · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I use a makeup remover wipe to get most of my makeup off, then I go in with a separate makeup remover (theBalm's or Maybelline ) and use the wipe to remove everything.

u/wizang · 2 pointsr/popping

If you get them all the time maybe try adding this to your routine. Ocusoft Lid Scrub Foaming Eyelid Cleanser, 7.25 Fluid Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000A7VRYG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_X64wDbWWSNV6Q

>But a move?

Yes, it happened to me.

>And are there any remedies beyond warm compresses and eyelid cleanser?

I struggled with it for about a year... what finally did the trick was using this product for about a month. Got it under control then finally fully disappeared after a month or two extra of use. Never had it again since. They also have the plus version which is for more severe cases. The "Plus" version can be kept on, while the normal version needs to be washed off. Think they also have some eyelid wipes which contain the formula in it but I never tried those.

Anyway, strongly recommend you try that product - the reviews speak for themselves and I personally vouch for it.

Good luck, Blepharitis is a fucking shit condition and when it's really bad makes you look like shit and feel like shit, I hated it to the max.
