  • The best stapler needs to be metal. Students break everything. This swingline is what I normally use. And this bostitch for large booklets
  • For a pencil sharpener you have two options. A metal mechanical sharpener like this or you buy whatever electric one costco sells and just return it every time it breaks.

I sell mostly vintage when it comes to books. I seal them in 100ga polyofelin shrink, cover in 5/16" bubble wrap, then roll
2" corrugated into a "box" around it, sealed with 3" 3.5mil tape lengthwise and 1/4" staples on the ends. If it is a really flimsy/flexible book, I will also put it between two sheets of matte board (this stuff, but I get it for free from CL/dumpsters/store closings/etc) before making the roll so that it won't bend.

Stapler and staples.

3 Hole puncher

Powerstrip, this is a more subtle item, but once he sees it, he'll realize you went all out.

Pink is the new black.

Thanks for the contest! Will you post before and after pictures??

STapler

You are awesome!

Personally I prefer the Bostitch B8RC, I find the crown staples never bind or jam, and it's a little more compact and ergonomic IMO. My dad had one of these for several decades and it still worked like a charm, so I got one for myself when I moved out.

(Not one here but similar)
It's more or less a crimper as staplers technically make holes.

They are neat

I wish I were as smart as you. I went to my local hardware store and picked up a Power Shot 5700M without reading reviews or doing research. I cannot tell you how much of a poor decision this was. I can't recommend a good one, but I can definitely tell you NOT to get the one I have.

I work as a law clerk in a less than paperless environment, and this version is AMAZING. There's some plastic bits on it, but the functional parts are all metal. It is heavy and staples thick reports with minimal effort. It staples "flat," too. It is sad how happy this stapler makes me each time I use it.

I've been having some issues with hand pains lately and I think some of it is related to the three letter stapler use. I got the OK from my FSM to pick up a couple of nicer staplers for me and my partner to use. This electric one for most simple bags:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C4TZQUS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and this manual one for when I need more precision or need to staple through heavier paper.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006IFLK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've only put around 15-20 sheets max through the electric one but it's had zero issues so far. The Bostitch uses standard staples and has not jammed or mis-fired a staple yet, I've done as many as 30 sheets with no problems whatsoever. Really happy with both of these.

That stapler is nothing compared to this one. Trust me.

Well naturally you'd need [a tutu] (http://www.amazon.com/Leg-Avenue-Organza-Tutu-Neon/dp/B004282W2A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945117&sr=8-1&keywords=pink+tutu), and matching [knee high socks] (http://www.amazon.com/Large-Baseball-Softball-Athletic-All-Sport/dp/B009K7ALK8/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945225&sr=8-6&keywords=pink+knee+high+socks).

But after that, I'd go with [a tape dispenser] (http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Dispenser-Magic-Inches-C30-SHOE-H/dp/B0086ZL1E0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945343&sr=8-1&keywords=pink+office+supplies), [post-its] (http://www.amazon.com/Post--Pop-up-Notes-Dispenser-3-Inch/dp/B004JCT47U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945343&sr=8-3&keywords=pink+office+supplies), [hole punch] (http://www.amazon.com/Swingline-3-Hole-Paper-Manual-S7099901/dp/B004OQ84N6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945343&sr=8-4&keywords=pink+office+supplies), [paper clips] (http://www.amazon.com/Officemate-Breast-Cancer-Awareness-08908/dp/B0040FFNXK/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945343&sr=8-9&keywords=pink+office+supplies), [stapler] (http://www.amazon.com/SilverHooks-Pink-Crystal-Stapler/dp/B005XE5KLM/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945385&sr=8-25&keywords=pink+office+supplies), and absolutely 1000000000% [this calculator] (http://www.amazon.com/Amico-Yellow-Keypad-Electronic-Calculator/dp/B00ARBUXOU/ref=sr_1_135?ie=UTF8&qid=1376945506&sr=8-135&keywords=pink+office+supplies).

Because pink is the new black . That's why. :b

u/mistaketheory · 3 pointsr/comicbooks

Have you thought about just doing it zine/booklet-style? Printer-paper size folded in half and held together by staples? You could do it yourself for just the cost of the prints and a special stapler.

u/BicycleGripDick · 32 pointsr/pharmacy

Definitely get one of these staplers with these staples. You'll be able to staple through a 2x4.

u/RealNotFake · 1 pointr/AskReddit

Is it one of these? Those have so much power I feel like I'm tempting fate every time I use it.

u/plan99fromouterspace · 5 pointsr/TheExpanse

I haven't been able to find any Expanse merch, but my new stapler looks kinda like the Donnager. Also antimicrobial apparently, which to me says perhaps they were thinking ahead.

u/idealrides · 2 pointsr/mildlyinteresting

This is the older version: (I have one, it's cool, it works)

Amazon has long reach staplers, I bought one last week for 5.99

u/Uuthgar · 11 pointsr/udub

Not in the class so I’m not entirely sure if this is exactly what you’re talking about, but here’s a staple-free stapler . Other staple-free staplers are available.
