Like most smartphones and tablets, the GPDXD has a capacitive touch screen. The Nintendo DS had a resistive touch screen. Capacative screens need a minimum diameter touch surface to register, so a very fine point stylus will simply be ignored. It's why most styluses for capacitive screens look like stubby rubber crayons.
A stylus like the Adonit Jot Pro gets around this by having a clear disc that makes contact with the display, and pivots around a fine point. It feels more like a fine point stylus on a display where fine point styluses do not work.
I got min in person at Target but I’m 99% sure this is the one.
I kinda expected it to be shit having just used someone else’s ipad and pencil but it’s not terrible and is passive so you don’t have to worry about charing/bluetooth issues. Also the cap is magnetic and has a great feel to it.
My biggest complaint is that it doesn’t work if you tilt the pen at too much of an angle.

Yes. I have both a pencil and a stylus for my iPad and I use the stylus more because it is much more precise (eg playing around in ProCreate app or making pattern making sketchings.) But for meetings I use a keyboard to make quick notes I organize later in an app for DevonThinkPro.
eta: I use the Adroit Jot Pro 3, it is something like a few pixels wide at the point. And its $20.00.
I like these gloves. I have one of those pop socket things on the back of my phone so I can hold it and wrap the mittens up cover my fingers.
I have this stylus. It works well with my iPhone, but its metal so I think i would prefer to have one of those rubber pencil grips on it.
Adonis Jot Pro, I’ve used this for nearly 2 years on my iPad Mini 4 till I upgraded to Pro 11’ with Apple Pencil. Pencil is miles better, but the hot Pro is very serviceable for your needs, and I took extensive notes on mine and it held up just fine!
