I had an issue with my Wii U's left analog stick a couple of months ago and I just went and replaced the analog stick myself. It cost me only $16. It's dead simple (and it was my first time opening up a controller).

The replacement of analog sticks will help. It's neither expensive nor requires any special skills.

All you need are Y-shaped screwdriver (amazon suggests those when you browse for the sticks), cross shaped screwdriver and carefulness.
It took about 30-40 minutes for me to replace the left stick.
Upd: fixed the link to point exact sticks I bought (the left one works perfect for me and i didn't replace the right one)
replacing the stick on the gamepad is a very easy process since the parts arent soldered to the rest of the device
