Sorry I probably didn't make it clear. I know running at 144Hz will be out of my budget, so I am content with getting games to run at about 70-100FPS. The only reason I selected 144Hz monitor was because I dont think there are any 100-120Hz 1440p monitors?

EDIT: I've tried to come up with a build, but not sure if its good. Couldn't decide on a PSU and the monitor I found wasn't on Pcpartpicker, so I've just got the Amazon link:

Unfortunately 100-120hz are not readily common so you'll have to settle for 60 or 144hz.

The one i have is the AOC Agon Vesa AG271QX which is 144hz.

I'm planning a build with a i7 7700k (probably) and something from a 1070-1080ti.

I'm looking around at monitors as they are the bulkiest items and I'd like to be in to receive delivery. I've come across the possibility of this AOC coming up cheaper. Would it be worth getting something like this or would it be worth looking for a gsync monitor instead.

For reference on pricing, what appears to be the same monitor with gsync is about £560 not £420 usually.

I would say that it is a very good monitor if you hqve a good setup, im more into IPS panels but I guess in exchange you get the 1ms response time

So yea it seems like a good pick

Edit: ive never tried an AOC monitor so I can't vouch for them, but it seems like it has the same specs minus gsync for 80 quid less

I have the gsync version and what I like about the panel is the fact, that is has a smoother anti-glare coating so it doesn't f*up the colours and text like most ips panels that have a more coarse coating. The AG271xx panels are also known to have rather little backlight-bleed.

And curved Samsung va panels sometimes have strange flickering bugs when connected via fsync@144Hz. They seem to run batter@120Hz.
