your cat would like this motion activated faucet fountain. it's a bit pricey, imo, but depending on your lifestyle... and cat annoyance level, might be worth it.

Cat are finicky about water and prefer running/flowing water over standing one - some more than others. This is also the reason why some cats paw in their water bowls.
You can look at getting a cat water fountain.
Catit Flower fountain is available for under 25 bucks, but if you are concerned about the cat playing with that, you can get a ceramic model. They would not tip over.

Um, my amazon says $124.99. Too much for me. I'll just waste water leaving it on. My water bill is like $13 a month and the trickling faucet is a small percentage of that.
