Vega56 may be a good alternative to a GTX1070 if you don't need CUDA acceleration and you're OK with the mediocre-at-best reference cooler.

Otherwise, consider a different power supply - the NEX SuperNOVA is quite sub-par when compared to the awesome G2 and G3 SuperNOVA units or the Seasonic and Corsair competition.

Also some people would insist on getting the ASRock AB350 Pro4 motherboard instead, but it seems that the full ATX version is currently sold out on Amazon...

Lastly, you may or may not want to instead consider just getting a ~500GB SSD by itself and ditching the mechanical HDD alltogether, and then just buying a mechanical HDD later down-the-line when/if you actually need the space. (in particular, it's way less of a hassle to just add in a secondary hard drive than it is to upgrade your primary SSD)

Build will run all modern games at 1080p or 1440p. I went with amazon for all parts except for the GPU because there are none in stock on Amazon. 8gb of ram is fine for gaming. 120gb SSD for OS/programs and 1TB HDD for mass storage. Semi modular power supply for easy cable management. Feel free to ask me any questions.

This seems like a pretty decent board, haven't used it yet but it has good reviews.

I am going for a blue and white color scheme. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06WWF165R/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER i had this one picked out but i figured for $20 more i could get the STRIX B350-f that has rbg and other stuff.

Is this motherboard ok? The one you recommended does not ship to my country.

https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B06WWF165R/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A11IL2PNWYJU7H&psc=1

Also, do I need a CPU Cooler and some extra cables?
RAM not in stock atm, any alternative?

u/xounaut · 1 pointr/buildapc

Would this motherboard work? Ive been searching and they say its 2000 ready.

If you're a student in high school or college, see if your school or college department has a Microsoft Imagine subscription, which could get you your windows license for free. That'll save a lot.

The K55 isn't mechanical, just a heads up. It's not half bad as a membrane keyboard though If you want mechanical with white backlighting, the Logitech G610 has sold on amazon for $60 a few times and uses Cherry MX Reds. There's also the Gigabyte Force K83, which lacks dedicated media and volume keys and backlighting, but is a steal at $40 (an LED desk lamp can kinda solve the lack of a backlight. I use the Logitech in my home office and the Gigabyte Force at work.

Logitech G610 Red: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Backlit-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B01CDYB8AG/

Gigabyte Force K83: https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Mechanical-GK-FORCE-K83-RED/dp/B01BMJ0Y4O/

You can get the SuperNOVA 650 G3 for $10 less:
https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Modular-Warranty-220-G3-0650-Y1/dp/B01LYGFRL6/

Otherwise, the only other thing I could think of is getting a Micro ATX board (shorter and usually 3-4 PCIe slots as opposed to ~7, most people don't use more than 3) to get the price to around $90. The ASRock AB350 Pro4 is around $90, despite being an ATX board:

https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-AB350-PRO4-ATX-Motherboard/dp/B06WWF165R/

NewEgg has it in stock at the same price with a guarantee that it's Ryzen 2000 ready.

Whatever you choose, I hope you enjoy it.

That's a good ATX size Mobo, and 16 gigs will go a long way now. Using the 2600x is a great choice because of the multi threaded performance for $200

I bought 16gb DDR4-3200 and the ASRock AB350 Pro4 AM4 AMD Promontory B350 motherboard. On PCPartPicker it says the motherboard takes 3200 but on Newegg and Amazon it doesn't show that the motherboard takes 3200. Which site is telling the truth, and do I need to return the motherboard and buy another one?

You can try using a USB to Ethernet adapter and test it that way as well. Also check the bios and see if you find anything related to LAN or Ethernet speed.

Also found this on an Amazon review: https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-AB350-PRO4-ATX-Motherboard/dp/B06WWF165R

Great MoBo but with one critical flawBy Jin Lee on February 4, 2018I bought this product on newegg. For the first six months, everything was fine. But ethernet adapter started to make troubles.I googled it and found it was a known issue of this product. This took me 3 days to figure out... What a waste of time and money. If you want to buy this, buy an PCI-e ethernet card together.Onboard ethernet adapter will not last > 6 months.

Hope this helps.

Ryzen 5 2600 is retailing at ~150 USD right now and a cheap B450 is about ~60 USD. So that’s 210 USD which is 164 British pounds I think.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Asrock-AB350-PRO4-motherboard-black/dp/B06WWF165R

Maybe not these specific ones, but it’s hard to look for stuff when you aren’t British and it defaults to US pricing and stuff

> SHADOW ROCK LP

that cooler will be fine, but you need to get a am4 kit here https://www.bequiet.com/en/contact/coolermounting

that card will work fine.

That is laptop ram. You want this instead. https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-32GB-3200MHz-Memory/dp/B01ARHF6Z4. You can get lower speed ram for a bit less(about 330 usd), but your losing about 3-20% performance.

PSU will be fine.

Storage will work fine, but id get an addition edit drive fo rcurrent projects. Editing off a ssd is better than a hdd. You can always add this later.

Case is fine.

For motherboard id get something like this https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-AB350-PRO4-ATX-Motherboard/dp/B06WWF165R/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1523844954&sr=1-4&keywords=b350&refinements=p_n_feature_six_browse-bin%3A2057506011

I feel like a dope. I just picked up an intel 9560 wireless AC adapter. for my desktop, and I realized I can't install it.

I have an older 7260 desktop PCIE adapter, but they aren't compatible, and I can't find a similar adapter anywhere for an m.2 2230 wifi card like the 9560.

I am currently working with a new Ryzen build, based around an ASRock b350 mobo. I have a NVME SSD in M.2 slot 1, and i was thinking about installing the network adapter in m.2 slot 2, but I am worried it won't work, and I don't want to get the antennas and whatnot if I'm just going to have to return everything anyway.

Does anyone have any advice before I just return this thing?

Thanks so much! As I'm buying outside the US I tend to use Amazon more. I did a 'raven ridge ready motherboard' search and got this
https://smile.amazon.com/ASRock-AB350-PRO4-ATX-Motherboard/dp/B06WWF165R/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1523971360&sr=1-1&keywords=raven+ridge+motherboard
It's a b350 so I hope it's ok!

I'm in the exact same boat brother, from Spain too. I need the mobo and the RAM now. What mobos/RAM have you found to be the cheapest but still good quality?

What I've found so far are:

Motherboard: https://www.amazon.es/dp/B06WWF165R/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I5BEZ0ONKEG4I&colid=2Q5E45TK8QAYN

RAM: https://www.amazon.es/dp/B015FY8G6U/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I2C4TWXM3E2RQ1&colid=2Q5E45TK8QAYN

Have you got anything better?
