You can get this board new on amazon and newegg for $75. Probably going to have a hard time finding someone that'll buy it second hand for the same price they could buy it brand new for. Even paying tax will be cheaper than what shipping will cost.

u/Monkeyman9832 · 9 pointsr/buildapcsales

any reason to go with this over the 69.99 ASRock B450M Pro-4?

u/One2Rex_ · 7 pointsr/buildapcsales

Normal sale price, solid board

For those interested: same price on amazon

u/jakster840 · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Going with a cheap board is like going with a cheap PSU. You are choosing a lesser quality component that plugs into every other piece of your build..

Dude, return that shit and I will Zelle you $15-20. Dead serious. DM me.

Edit: Here is an inexpensive board on Amazon.

If you live near a Microcenter you can get the same board there as well:

I've bought this graphics card and this motherboard, but the graphics card covers my SATA ports. Have i bought the wrong graphics card, or do I need to dismantle the whole thing and put the graphics card in the other PCI(?) slot (which looks like it will cover some other stuff...

Am I missing something obvious?

u/nyrel77 · 2 pointsr/techsupport

You dont need a new system from you parts you can easily get a Asrock B450m pro, a Ryzen 3 2200g, and a 8GB/16GB DDR4 3000Mhz RAM for what $215 or $240. That will last you for a good long while. Then you can re-use all your other parts.

Motherboard $75, CPU $80, 8GB $59, 16GB $85

Edit: Cleaned up links and format

u/jtprin · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I would recommend swapping out the motherboard. Find a B450 motherboard and check with the seller to make sure you get one with a "Ryzen 3000 ready" sticker on it, I know Amazon US is shipping these with the sticker but I'd still double check since B450 motherboards didn't support Ryzen 3000 at launch.

Edit: Ignore this, the B450 MAX is fine.

This is a pretty good Amazon build, and can handle medium-high AAA titles and can demolish Minecraft, even at ultra resolutions.

AND IT'S UNDER $500!!!

Why you should use this build...

  1. Why use iGPUs when you can fit a decent discrete GPU that can run AAA at high details inside the budget?
  2. 8GB is starting to be the minimum requirements for a decent PC, let's go with 16GB!
  3. A build with a SSD that is almost 20% faster than base Inland, Kingston, Crucial, and Adata models.
  4. Support for Four-Channel memory and OC...

I also come from console and just switched a couple months ago and it's a lot better. I run this setup except with a Ryzen 3 2200g which I got because I didn't have a gpu at first. I can currently run gta at 1080p high 60+ fps but this one will handle games better

u/AK-Brian · 1 pointr/Amd

Look into getting a B450 motherboard (eg, ASRock B450M Pro4 for $70) and pair it with a Ryzen 5 1600 or 2600 (~$118 with cooler), and substitute the RX 5700 non-XT instead to save money there. They can be had for as low as $289 (current low price seems to be about $320) and most cards can be BIOS flashed to near XT level performance. Add 16GB of DDR4-3200 CL16 memory for $60 and you're off to the proverbial races. Build cost for CPU+MB+GPU+RAM: ~$550.

If your budget is extremely tight, you might even want to look at using an RX 580 8GB for about $180 and dialing back some detail settings. This will bring the build cost down to about $430. If you're one of the chosen few who live near a Microcenter, they have bundle discounts and lower cost in-store special pricing that could get you down to around $350.

Regardless, the X4 will not provide good performance, gaming or otherwise.

u/Ewwbullterd · 1 pointr/buildapc

This is what I'm looking at. https://www.amazon.com/ASRock-MicroATX-Motherboard-B450M-PRO4/dp/B07FVYKFXF

The Asrock has questions and reviews that say they needed to update. Newer reviews indicate that they didn't need to update. And the box in the photo says 3000 series ready. I'm assuming that they initially weren't but that they've since made sure that they are updated. Otherwise is this a decent board? I know nothing about mobos. I have an Asrock mobo now and it's been great for my needs

u/Broadbanned · 1 pointr/buildapc

Each of the AsRock B450 boards I've ordered from Amazon and built with recently has not only come with an updated BIOS for 3rd gen, they also advertise as such on the Amazon page (see 5th image from the top on the left side of the page).

u/MisterMeowgi_ · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

Understandable. Right now AMD has a much better line of cpus in terms of price to performance. Which is why he asked. I would go with a Ryzen platform over Intel atm. You'll save a lot of money, and you'll get much more for it at the mid range and high end skus. You can't go wrong with a ryzen 5 2600 or 3600. Some good boards to look at would be the Asrock B450m Pro4, the MSI B450 Tamahawk, or the Gigabyte B450 Aorus. Any of those are good choices and have plenty of features you'd probably want.

Can I support two monitors with this motherboard: ASRock B450M PRO4 MicroATX ( https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07FVYKFXF/?tag=pcpapi-20&sa-no-redirect=1 )? The monitors I'm looking to use are these AOC 22V2H 22" ( https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07GF4S4B8/?tag=pcpapi-20&sa-no-redirect=1&th=1 ). The motherboard has one hdmi, one dvi, and one vga, and I wanted to make sure that I can mix and match different ports on the monitors and have it still work.

I was also wondering if anyone had any input on the AOC monitors I was planning on buying above.

Thanks!

Not really there's a "second" cable that deals with RGB only, not the power to the fan.

they are the round pinned cable here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075FKL6C1/

the arrow on the cable points to PIN 1 on the motherboard.

On the motherboard they are the white connectors if you look at the 1st picture here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FVYKFXF

It's Labeled RGB Header1, (Bottom left corner) and it looks like you only have the one connection point, so you'll need a splitter to extend to each fan that has it.

12V G R B and next to it is ADDR_LED1

So your motherboard can have addressable RGB and Synchronized RGB fans.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/buildapc

nah it's all good. this one is great and fits into your budget

u/TrumpSmokesReg · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Here is a ASRock B450M-HDV for $65. It has two ram slots.

I just picked up the ASRock B450M PRO4 for $80. It’s a little more, but has 4 RAM slots and RGB headers. I like it so far.

If these don’t work, I can look around some more. Is form factor an issue? Anything specific you’re looking for?

u/david_hofland · 0 pointsr/buildapcsales

Ryzen 5 3600 + Asrock b450 steel legend is a good combo. It also has a micro atx version if you’d like smaller form factor.
You can save a bit extra by going with asrock b450m pro4 although there is a chance that it won’t be compatible with 3rd gen ryzen out of the box (look for the sticker). In that case you can email amd and they’ll lend you an upgrade kit for free.
If you can spare an extra $10-20 MSI b450 tomahawk max is a very good board and well worth it IMO. No smaller form factor tho.
