They also announce a 1070 version when the 1080 version was announce.

it actually been out of for about 2 weeks

Not sure if this is the best place to ask (or I should start a post) but I have a list of laptops that seem to be great deals for the specs that they're carrying. Just having a tough time deciding. They range from USD 1000~1600. There's one ASUS that could get as low as 1030 for a GTX1080 but the responses to it have not been so good. Just wanted some good advice on which ones I should get and ones I should be more concerned about. At least I hope others will find this list useful.

  • *Sager/Prostar Clevo w 9th gen i7 + RTX 2060 for $1299 - 500GB ssd, 16gb RAM, 144hz (no gsync but eh)Probably the most tempting laptop. It's seems super cheap for a RTX 2060; might be the best bang for the buck laptop out there. But some others seem good enough and a bit cheaper such as the Helios and ASUS w AMD. Anyone think the extra $300 over 1660ti laptops is worth for this? I feel like this one I could use for a good three years before changing set up. That it'll last a bit longer. Any drawbacks with Sager/Prostar from anyone else's experience?
  • Acer Helios 300 for $1088 - GTX1660ti; 144hz; 16GB DDR4; 256gb PCIe NVMe SSDMost affordable and well regarded option but I'm not sure abut the 256gb ssd. The higher storage ones cost a few hundred more but they were only a bit more expensive a few days ago. I like playing FIFA, Witcher 3, Metro, TW3K and some relatively newer games. Just not sure if the 256gb ssd is enough. Might have to constantly install and uninstall. The price-tag is really hard to resist, though. But maybe it's worth spending a bit more on the Sager with better storage and graphics card.
  • ASUS ROG Strix GL702VI for $1100 but through some discounts I can get to as low as $1039; i5-7200HQ; GTX1080; G-Sync (but 60Hz); 256gb SSD + 1TB HDDThis seems like an amazing deal. But the responses have been mixed. But a $1k laptop with gtx 1080 that will last about a year or two seem too good to be true. A bit suss but hella cheap. But again... for the lowest pricetag, a gtx 1080 that will last me a year or two.
  • ASUS w AMD Ryzen 7 + GTX 1660 ti for $1134Seems like another cheap good deal. But are ASUS laptops just not that well regarded? A lot of mixed reviews. But I like the design, the thinness. Plus it has a good entry graphics card.
  • ASUS ROG Zephyrus for $1311 - This one has a GTX 1070, 7th gen i7, 16gb ram, and 256gb ssd. Once again, ASUS isn't well received in amazon. This one's a bit more expensive than the Sager/Prostar. But I like the slim design and the GPU cards should be more or less equal, right?
  • ASUS ROG Strix Hero II for $1372 - 8th gen i7, RTX 2060, 16 GB RAM, 521gb PCIe SSD
  • Acer Helios 300 for $1384 - Only difference is bigger storage, 512 gbs this time. Same GTX 1660 ti and everything else. Considering there are cheaper laptops with seemingly better specs, maybe not worth the extra $300? Plus the others around this range seem to offer better bang for the buck.
  • Acer Helios 500 for $1400 - AMD Ryzen 7 2700, Radeon RX Vega 56; Vega 56 seems like a really good card. But should I be considering this when there are rtx 2060 n gtx 1080 laptops available for cheaper or around the same price?
  • Sager RTX 2070 for $1499 - Seems like a great deal for a 2070 card. But might still be pretty pricey for me. Yet considering some of the others, for value, this seems really good
  • Acer Triton 700 for $1502.49 - GTX 1080 w G-Sync 120Hz, 512GB SSD. Again, like teh Sager, this seems like an amazing deal for the card and monitor. Only drawback I see is the trackpad
  • ASUS ROG Zephyrus GX501 for $1549 - GTX1080 w 144Hz G-Sync, 16 GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 8th gen i7Similar price range as the previous two. I like the Zephyrus design better but that's really about it. But like the other ASUS laptops, it has mixed responses.

Just for reference, I bought my previous laptop (now blue screened and unusable) four years ago. I wasn't (and still am not) very tech savvy so I wasn’t sure if it was a good gaming laptop back then. But these are the specs for my ASUS A501U: 6th gen i7; GTX 950M; 126gb ssd + 500gb hdd. I'm sure any one of these laptops will be great compared to my mingy 950M.

Which one of these would you guys recommend? Thoughts on how black friday might change the price? Should I wait for BF or just get one sooner?

I have also been looking in this range, but am opting in for a g-sync 120 Hz unit with a GTX 1070. What I've found so far is below. If you or anyone else wants to jump in, please let me know the your thoughts.

Asus Zephyrus- Zephyrus - $1,999
15.6” Full-HD 120Hz Ultra-portable Gaming Laptop, GTX 1070, Intel Core i7, 256GB PCIe SSD, 16GB DDR4

This is an extremely portable gaming laptop, but has a janky keyboard and a premium price. The battery life is completely abysmal, but that expected for this type of system. This is basically the best (there is a GTX 1080 version for $2,500) laptop for raw power and size, but you have to deal with an interesting case design and pay for the portability with extra $ and worse battery life. However, at 0.7" thick and 4.9 pounds, it's a tough one to beat

Eluktronics Pro-X P650HS-G - $1,750
120Hz 5ms Gamers Edition Laptop PC - Intel i7-7700HQ Quad Core Win 10 Home 8GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 + G-SYNC 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD 16GB DDR4 RAM

My favorite so far. It's about $250 cheaper that the above Zeph, but has a more robust and complete build. The main downside is the unknown brand, potential reliability issues (most review I've read have been good though) and support. Plus it's not as portable as the flagship Asus at 1.13" and 6 pounds. I really like this unit because it has a lot of potential (EXTRA:1x SSD AND 2x HDD ports AND 3x DDR4 Slots) as well as some nice software add-ons. I'd mark this as the best bang for the buck and includes the ability to upgrade in the future

ASUS ROG STRIX GL502VS-DS71 - $1,700
GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Core i7-7700HQ, 16GB DDR4 DRAM, 128GB SSD, 1TB HDD, 15.6", Black

Very solid laptop from a trusted brand with similar components as the above 2. However, the SSD is only 128GB and looks like its not NVMe. You will not get the same advantages with the other SSDs as it appears to be wired in SATA. This laptop is also most the same size as the Eluktronics at 1.2" and 4.9 pounds, but just doesn't seem as feature packed. However if you love the brand, it's a good step down from the Zeph.

ASUS ROG STRIX GL702VI-WB74 - $1,900
17" Full HD 120Hz Panel, Intel Core i7 2.8GHz GTX 1080 8GB, 16GB DDR4 256GB PCIe SSD 1TB HDD, Black Aluminum Hairline

Basically a beast of a laptop. It has an insane GTX1080 graphics card and just about every other feature you could want in this price range. The main downside is portability at 1.5" and 7.5 pounds. The added size should provide some better cooling and build strength, and a 120Hz G-sync display should look great on a bigger screen.

For you:

1. I'd definitely stick with a GTX 1070 8 GB card as the added ram over the 1060 6GB will help it last. Plus there are some great options in your price range.

2. If you don't have a high-end monitor, I'd highly recommend a g-sync system and look at some 120Hz reviews to see if it's worth it for you

3. Go for an NVMe SSD and a minimum of 16GB of ram

4. Keep the i7-7700HQ processor

After that, there aren't a whole lot of options. There are some good ones from MSI, Dell and Origin, but they all seem to be missing a key item that the above 4 had (G-sync, 120hz display, NVMe SSD, GTX 1070, etc.)

Now with all that said, can someone help me decide between these 4 and/or suggest something I may be missing. I am seriously torn between the above options and am also in need of a laptop

Only found one and reviews don't look that great. Must be an issue with quality control which is why there are not many with 120hz and gsync. One or the other it seems.

Well your budget is actually fairly large. (Almost nothing is 6,000 dollars unless you're just filling every drive bay with the max ssd size on the market).

An Asus Zephyrus sounds like a pretty good match. It's powerful and can game, but it's the new "Max Q" line of gaming laptops that focus on being quiet and thin. It also has an RGB keyboard. The trackpad placement is a bit weird but otherwise it's a nice machine.

They're getting better and better. Although it's rather expensive the Asus Zephyrus is a good indicator of the future of gaming laptops. I'll bet in a few years gaming laptops will fit all your needs.

I would recommend this ASUS ROG Zephyrus GX501 because it comes with everything you need, i7 quad core CPU which is one of the best in the market and great for your usage, 16GB of ram for smooth multitasking, Good SSD storage of 256 GB for faster boot up and loading, Full HD 120Hz IPS screen which is a must have for this price range, high build quality, short battery life as you would expect from a machine with all these specs it has a regular battery runtime of two hours, very good heat management, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPU that should be able to handle any game on high to ultra settings with very good FPs, and it is within your budget.
Another option is this Eluktronics Pro-X P957HR because it comes with everything you need, i7 quad core CPU which is one of the best in the market and great for your usage, 32 GB of ram for smooth multitasking, Good SSD storage of 512 GB for faster boot up and loading, 1 TB of HDD for storage, Full HD IPS screen which is a must have for this price range, high build quality, long battery life, very good heat management, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 MAX-Q GPU that should be able to handle most games on high to ultra settings with very good FPs, and it is within your budget.

https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-ZEPHYRUS-GX501/ Just wish I could buy this thing. Of course, it's only $2000 aka $800 more than I had.

Well then you won’t find a thin and light gaming laptop that’s around 3 pounds and is 17 inches. If you want to play games then you’ll have to use intels Integrated graphics which won’t be able to handle a whole lot.

I still think you should go for that MSI laptop or something by Dell and Asus because they make nice thin and light laptops.

Consider this one as well.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus Thin & Light Gaming Laptop, 15.6” Full HD 120Hz, Intel Core i7-7700HQ Processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, 16GB DDR4, 256GB PCIe M.2 SSD, Windows 10 Professional – GX501VS-XS71 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0731JXL49/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_i45vCb4851SKZ

Because if you go for a 1,700$ LG gram just for it’s gonna be kind of a waste considering it just has an i7, 512gb SSD and 16gb. There possible lightest laptop would be that zephyrus at 4.9lbs and you’re getting a lot more power for a lower price.
