They argue in this book that you need to heal the attachment issues before the cptsd issues. I heard the author speak on it once and don’t know anything else about it .

I'll let you know when I'm done with the books. I'm expecting this to be another exercise in someone describing a phenomenon very well then leaving off with uhm, ok, good luck with that!

My book stack is enormous right now, but I'm picking my way through Attachment Disturbances in Adults: Treatment for Comprehensive Repair. A good 2/3 of the book's 700 pages covers the treatment part. There's also a good bit of specific focus on avoidant/dismissing types (us), who usually get kind of glanced over because the preoccupied/borderlines are so much sexier. Lol.

Note: I'm not suggesting avoidant attachment and schizoid are synonymous. But after sponging up every book, paper, article on SPD I can find -- I wholly believe attachment is the best (and possibly only) place to start if you want to get "better".
