Take a look, just make sure you know which set you're buying, some of them are full sets of back plates and joycons, and others are just one or the other.

Ebay and Etsy are your best bets. I haven't seen any large retailers offering them. Regardless of where you get them you can be 99% assured that it'll just be these at a markup. You also probably wont find much of a warranty other than the general protection ebay and etsy offer. As soon as you crack those open any warranty from Nintendo or wherever the joycons were originally bought will be voided.

fwiw, swapping them yourself is fairly easy and the toolset is cheap. I've done three pairs so far and a Switch body with no problems.

The joycons were the worst to replace with these shells and I ended up breaking one small ribbon cable. If you’re up for the challenge though go for it!

just look on amazon for the company basstop, they make every transparent colors just like the n64, the pink and green set, white, gold, etc

i have done many electronic projects and this one isnt too hard to do, it's only scary because everything is just so small. you will also need a tri wing screwdriver, propretary screws on nintendo stuff. it costs like a dollar or 2.basstop

I’m pretty sure the replacement shells have the grill on the intake vents Nintendo Switch Replacement Shell. That the whole shell plus joy con but you can buy the back shell on its own.

Had a similar issue but the locking plastic bit in the joycon itself broke and I was lucky enough that I got a warranty from Gamestop and the SL was nice enough to swap out the cons without using up my warranty.

Try duck tape! If not you could always get a replacement shell and if you’re willing to try and take it apart you could have a fancy new switch shell!
