I do not use a case when I'm reading. When I bought my PW, I struggled with whether to buy a case or not. I had a Kindle Keyboard at one time, and I always felt that the case made it too cumbersome. It's a sleek device and supposed to be very light. So, I finally decided to just get a sleeve to keep it from getting dusty or scratched up when not in use. I bought this one, and I'm really happy with it:
