The key to removing base plates is squeezing the sides of the mag to relieve the tension just enough to allow the plate to start moving when you apply pressure with a punch or driver via the hole in the plate.

Avoid prying the plate off by using a chisel tip driver, blade, etc. You'll just eat up the mag bodies that way.
