Fourth that. I just bought the Black Diamond Spot, and took it out this morning on dark, rocky, rooty, twisty trail. Even on the default 75% or so brightness, it was more than sufficient.

Gerber products suck... obviously it is more expensive because it has Bear Grylls' name on it. For just 30 bucks you can get a Black iamond Spot which has never failed me.
My #1 rule when buying stuff for outdoors use is to never buy cheap. Humans have been camping in the back-country for literally thousands of years and quite frankly the gear you can buy these days is really good stuff, and you can get it cheaply, but that doesn't meant there aren't a whole bunch of knock-offs and bad products. Best thing you can do is search for reviews online that people have made about actual-use scenarios.
I don't know of any, but another good option is a night walk kit!

Black diamond spot Is the original, which has more features and red lights. You can probably find it cheaper than this somewhere. That capper has the super cheapo LED's in it, you can see them in the picture.
