Or you could try an Epilator. I have this one and I really like it. It hurts at first but you get used to it pretty fast and if you keep up with it the hairs seems to come back a lot slower. I've even used it on my bikini line.

It looks like they've come out with newer models and mine is no longer sold.

This is the one I have. Got it in 2005, and it's still going strong.

Not gonna lie, the first couple times it is NOT comfortable. But the hair very quickly starts growing back finer and more sporadically, and then it doesn't hurt at all. Now a days, I can do it about once a week or less and stay perfectly smooth.

Edit: I think the little attachment thinggy helps with the discomfort at first. I haven't used it in years, don't even know where it is. I usually put a towel down on the couch to catch the stray hairs that go flying and get both legs done while watching 15 minutes of TV.

I've got this and it's been pretty reliable (had it for 3 years now, and had another Braun one for 7yrs before that).

I have an inexpensive one, this Braun model (it's $41 now, price must have gone up in the past year).

I use it on my legs. It hurt a lot at first, but after about the third time, it was just a little uncomfortable, and now it's barely noticeable.
