Many people don’t realize that *most women need more than just PIV/penetrative sex to orgasm. Most women need external/clitoral stimulation. Having lube on hand is always nice as well. It doesn’t matter how ‘wet’ you are, extra lube can help with any friction or discomfort. Put a blanket down if you’re worried about being/getting messy!

If you’re having pain, itching or discomfort with condoms, switch to non-latex condoms - some people have a mild allergy and don’t even know it, and it can make a big difference.

I'm a little late to the party, but I know how you feel. I grew up around all boys and had the reputation of being the dirtiest out of everyone. I don't feel like I "girl" very well either, but I've figured out a few steps that help.


It's hard to say just how much time I spend on this stuff daily, it varies a lot but I've tried to incorporate it in to my regular free time activities as much as possible. I always multi-task with fun activities. I listen to music or podcasts while doing my makeup or cleaning the house. I watch netflix while doing my hair or nails. This is my reward system and helps motivate me.


Makeup is cool, but smelling good makes my feel like I'm winning the girl game. After showering, I lotion up and add perfume oil behind my ears, my wrists and a little throughout my hair. My favorite perfume is Dorian


When it comes to hair, there's no real short cuts here, just trial and error. I use a shower cap and avoid getting my hair wet or washing it unless I have time to style afterwards. Wash Monday's and Thursday's with Dry Shampoo on off days when needed.


When it comes to makeup, I like to look for inspiration in women who have coloring similar to myself.


I feel most confident when my hair is freshly dyed black and my skin is smoothed out with BB Cream: Missha #13, my brows are filled in with brow powder: Anastasia, my lashes are curled, and my lips are tinted with a red stain: Benetint

I'm also really fond of epilating in place of shaving or waxing.

Still feel like a hot mess when it comes to dressing well, but I'm working on that.

I wrote a version of this comment a couple of months ago, so here is a slightly updated version (still the same amount of cursing tho):

Okay, this is a novel but it's my journey with epilating and some things I've learned along the way. I am a total baby when it comes to pain but I managed to overcome it.

My friend epilates and convinced me to try it. I bought a cheap one on Amazon, tried it, hated it, sent it back, and bought the mack daddy Braun Silk Epil 9, and I have to tell you it was rough going at first but now I love it.

It really did hurt like everloving FUCK the first time. I have a lot of hair. A lot. Friend said it would hurt less as I go on, on which I called bullshit. It was so so so bad that I couldn't even do a full leg in one go. And forget above the knees, Jesus tap dancing Christ Almighty.

Why I love it now: friend was right, damn her. It really truly gets better the more you do it, and I mean almost immediately. The second time is like night and day compared to the first. The reason for this is that hair grows in cycles. All the hair on your legs didn't all start growing at the same time, so when you rip all that hair out, every hair isn't growing back at the same rate. I would say it's about 1/2 to 1/3 of the amount of hair that grows back long enough to epilate in about a week's time. The lower density of hair makes for a MUCH less painful experience, and for me to say that, well, you saw how much of a little bitch I was in the previous paragraph. It seriously doesn't even phase me now.

Also why I love it: when you shave hair you leave a blunt edge which can feel like the hair is thicker and makes stubble feel stubblier. When the hair is plucked, it grows back nice and tapered and is softer to the touch. Because the hairs are growing back in less density, it's less noticeable. I can go for a week without giving a fuck about the hair on my legs.

Also, shaving just fucking sucks for me. It tears up my skin, I get itchy, and then it grows back in like a day. Epilating 4 lyfe, man.

But it took some trial and error to get there, which wisdom I will now bestow upon you. Here is my routine:

1. Exfoliate. For the love of God, before and after. Exfoliating means less dead skin means less chance for ingrown hairs. My preferred way to so this is with a hammam glove like this one. Look up the Baiden Mitten, then buy a hammam mitt on amazon because they're way cheaper. But it basically sloughs off the dead skin in rolls and is super gross and super satisfying. I did this right before the last time I epilated and my legs are soooooo smoooooth I can't even.
   
   
2. Nothing on your skin, no lotion or whatever. The epilator tweezers might slip on the hair and break it. This leads to subparly smooth legs and ingrown hairs. So I wash in the shower with a soap that won't leave any residue, hammam it up, and then dry off and epilate.
   
   
3. Epilate! If you have a wet/dry epilator you can do it in the shower with really hot water. This truly does alleviate the pain, and this was how I did it every time when I first started. I have found though that when I do this, the time it takes me to do my lower legs means that the water has made the hair on my upper legs much softer and prone to breakage, so the epilating isn't as effective. I usually suck it up and do it dry now.
   
   
4. Exfoliate again! This time I do chemical exfoliation. I use Stridex pads, the kind that come in the red box. Red box is important because it's at the right pH to actually exfoliate.
   
   
5. Soothe and/or moisturize. I slap on some aloe gel for this. Then I take care to moisturize daily afterwards.
   
   Rinse and repeat! I find that going more than a week in between hair ripping sessions means the growth is just enough to start to be painful again. I do this about every 5 days because my hair grows fast, but I'm hoping to extend it to a week eventually (which coincidentally is the recommended time to go in between exfoliating seshes).
   
   With this routine, which takes less and less time every time I do it, I don't get any bumps and only the occasional ingrown hair, usually on my upper thighs. Your legs will be kind of red and splotches after, and there may even be angry red dots where the hair was ripped out, but this goes away very quickly, and by the next day they look completely normal. It's never going to be completely smooth like with shaving, but honestly the tradeoff to me is worth it because when I shave, my legs are never perfectly smooth anyway because of the damage the razor does to my skin. Epilating is way gentler on my skin and I love the results I get.
   
   My final piece of advice: if you can stand it, wax everything first. Then the first growth cycle you epilate will be much less painful than if you'd started with the epilator. I used these Veet wax strips and yes it hurt like a bitch but ripping a giant bandaid off your legs is way better than slowly moving an epilator up your legs knowing that the pain just isn't going to stop. I have also done this again when I waited too long in between epilating and I just couldn't face the pain again.
   
   If you don't want to wax, what I've also done (I told you this was an arduous journey) is shave first with the shaver attachment on my epilator, then epilate. There are very few hairs left behind that are long enough for it to grab, so you can get used to the sensation.
   
   I haven't been brave enough to do my underarms yet, because the couple times I tried I was actually yelping from the pain. I may try waxing those first which I'm sure will also be an experience....

   PS I should mention that I have sensitive skin in general and I'm prone to things like eczema, ingrown hairs and body acne, but epilating with this routine does not exacerbate this at all.

I am sorry you experienced that, sometimes people are just cruel. Hopefully they'll grow up a bit and realize having hair on your upper lip pretty much means nothing other than you're a mammal. I have a mustache too, and with my dark hair and light skin it can be pretty visible.

I have tried to wax it a few times but broke out horribly each time. My skin is pretty sensitive. At this point I think I am going to get a facial trimmer...I have been looking at this one as it has pretty good reviews and is on sale for $9.99. I wish I had a better answer, but you're definitely not alone...don't be down on yourself about having perfectly normal hair, but I hope you find a solution that helps you feel better.

If you do run into them again I would do your best to not look phased even if you are, don't feed the trolls as they say. The things they are saying speak volumes about them and very little about you.

TMI Warning:

This costs an arm and a leg but is worth it's weight in gold. If you notice, it's an epilator and not an electric razor, but it has an electric razor head that's ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for what you're listing. Given a good cream, you can really go to town without any fear. Like really go if you know what I'm saying. In my 4 years of using this thing, it has never once cut me using the razor head.

Now, the epilator head is also fabulous, but I would have to be a masochist to use it on my nether regions. However, it is great for the underarms and the legs! Now, the greatest and my most favorite part of all of this is that it can be used both wet and dry while being electronic so usage in the shower with your shower shaving oil or whatever is perfect!

Again, I cannot recommend this thing enough. It is steep, but I haven't bought a single razor in 4 years.

I'm loving my Panasonic Facial Trimmer. No cuts, ingrown hairs or PIH! It's way gentler than tweezing.

I bought Benton High Content Snail Bee Skin, Lotion and Mask Packs. The Skin and Mask Packs are long-time favs and the Lotion is a new addition. The Skin and Lotion were a steal - $9 for 5 oz on Amazon Prime. Yay for snail-y, niacinamide-filled goodness!

In the beginning of the month, I started Curology (4% Azelaic Acid | 1% Clindamycin | 4% Niacinamide). I'll replace niacinamide with tretinoin soon - my provider is being cautious and tons of my skincare includes niacinamide. I switched from generic tretinoin gel 0.01% to Curology to avoid drying alcohol and try azelaic acid (for acne and PIH). So far so good!

I'm on a quest to find fragrance-free, low pH (goal: pH 5.5) body washes. I want to snag CeraVe Hydrating Body Wash or Aquaphor Gentle Body Wash as soon as I find them in a brick-and-mortar store. Here's a list I've compiled with * next to ones I've tried:

Holy cow so many people shaving! For reference, I'm of Mediterranean decent and threading faces is a biweekly event for all the ladies in my family. I have dark hair and, if I let it go, you can clearly see a nice mustache, wild brows, exceeding hairline onto my temples and sideburns, and a overall gray haze on my face. I've been threading my entire face for years.

Honestly, yeah it hurts at the beginning for a while, but god my face never feels as breathable and exfoliated as after a nice threading session. Just be sure to baby your face after for that day by gently wiping with cotton soaked with rose water or a gentle olive oil cleanser and using a very gentle moisturizer. Don't put on any make up for that day or your face will break out. You need to give that day to your skin to breathe after weeks of wearing makeup.

Obviously YMMV. This is just my routine! :)

Have you tried the Spring Sprong?
Basically it's a spring that you roll across the areas you want to remove the hair from and it plucks the hair. It may sound painful, but as a woman who also suffers from facial hair, I couldn't recommend it more.
If you go to amazon you will see several kinds of spring hair removals. I've bought the original spring sprong (and when I thought I lost it) a cheaper knock off version. Having purchased both, take my advice and go with the original spring sprong, it's a little more flexible and in turn seems to pull out more hair in a pass. It does seem a little uncomfortable at first, but within the same session of hair pulling it will become numb and not be too bothersome.
Also if you do decide to use it, please take my advise and make sure to wash your face before AND after to avoid breakouts.
Really, I've tried waxing, plucking, bleaching, and this was by far my favorite way to address the issue.

Yeah, you kind of gently rub is against your skin. It pinches, which is what essentially does to pull the hairs out. The little metal "teeth" (i dunno what else to call them, they look like teeth lol) open and close really fast and snatch the hairs when they close. It's best if it's it's against your skin so it pulls closest to the root, other wise you might just break the hair off.

If you gently just rub your skin with your hand, like after an itch to calm it, that's how much pressure it would use.

I bought mine when it was on sale for $89.99 They're pricey, but SO SO worth it. I haven't used any of the other attachments for the one I have but I would happily pay $100 again for it.

I find it's easier to use on totally dry skin (pre shower, pre lotion) and then lube up/scrub up in the shower, but my girlfriend says she likes to use it better in the shower. The one I linked is certified to be used in the shower, but some aren't so be careful!

Well, besides going to the doctor and asking their opinion (mine put me on Spiro for awhile which while it was a bit rough on my cycle did help not only with my adult acne did help with my hair growth, and some can recommend a gel but mine was not covered by my insurance and was EXPENSIVE so I passed) I recommend being diligent with shaving. I know, sounds like a hassle, but I have this facial hair trimmer and it works wonders. I know some people who have done laser and electrolosis (sp) which they all have said have grown back, so I've never gone that route myself. I also tweeze the prickly hairs pretty much daily if I can on my chin, but anymore I just shave in the morning and don't deal with it.

Hope that helps! I know its a pain and it seems like the worst thing ever, but its pretty manageable if you keep up on it. I just do all my stuff in the morning before putting my makeup on. The only ones that ever really get me are the wacky "waddle" hairs I don't realize I don't get until they are really long! Just make sure you have a nice mirror and you'll be fine!

What do you want to use it for? People will probably cringe but I use one pretty regularly for private parts and it works really well. This is the one I use. I usually take the cap off for more flexibility and use it underwater and it doesn't hurt too much. I've never used another one but I'm really happy with this one. It's lasted me well over a year so far, rechargeable, and one of those things that I really couldn't have lived without.

Facial hair is really the only thing that's killing you right now. I know electrolysis is super expensive, but you might want to look into some better ways of taking the shadow off. Twice-daily shaving? Cut nipples? Ouch! I did say epilating hurts, but as I've been doing it regularly it has been getting easier, and randomly bleeding hair follicles are fairly uncommon (and it's only a little bit of blood). This is the device I'm using, and it has been doing a pretty solid job so far.

Unfortunately I have very few female friends that I can turn to for clothing advice, but one of my male friends has experience with makeup since he did some theatre stuff back in high school so I was able to get some pointers from him for that at least.

Yes, there are several different options depending on what you want and your budget. I got the Braun Silk-épil 9 9579 The research I did beforehand said that it's the best on the market and after using it several times I definitely don't doubt that. It's one of the pricier ones ($110-140 on Amazon) but quite worth it. It came with several different attachments and an exfoliator that also works really well. If you're looking for something cheaper there are a few but I'd recommend waiting to get something that's going to last.

I've been eyeing the Bundle Monster for awhile but couldn't bring myself to purchase it (I'm a super-cheap person)! Just pulled the trigger and bought these.

Anyone have experience with MASH plates? Better/worse than Bundle Monster? I'm assuming they can't compare with Konad's, but at this price, that's OK.

I would start by shaving all your body hair. Buy an Epilator from Amazon I reccomend the Amazon Epilator ok, then I would keep epilating the whole body. The belly is painful but trust me it's Soo worth the effort. You can epilate anywhere on the body. IPL removal is helpful but you must keep doing it and might as well Epilate too. The Face I would reccomend professional Laser hair removal. It's $$$$ though. The Epilator will do a fine job on most the body. Anyways get one you can plug into the wall cause you will want to do it often for a while.

The second "frame" for the main head is really helpful, I switch back and forth. The bikini one is also nice, taking the full-sized head to your pubes the first is a bit much. However, you can edge around as you trim with the full size, it's just not as easy.

It's pricey but 10,000% worth it, IMO.

I have this facial hair threading wand and it's the greatest thimg ever. Takes about 2 minutes to get rid of all the hairs and is super cheap (look around Amazon, you'll find for $1 somewhere). I love it.

Mine looks just like this one but it's a way older version obviously. Braun Silk-Epil 7521 Wet and Dry Epilator (Pink).

When mine dies i will buy this one: Braun SE 7561 Silk-Epil Wet and Dry Epilator (Silver) cause it has all the fancy attachments heads that I'd love to try and says it's only a few dollars more.

My current one is also a wet & dry version. I don't think I've ever actually tried it in the shower, but that might help with the pain if you need it and have that option. Not sure though.

Also some things I've remembered.

• Most important thing ever, hold the skin taut while epilating. It'll reduce the chance of pinching and reduce the pain a bit. This is important for all waxing in general though too
  
  
• you can also try to use a numbing cream beforehand. Example, Emla Numbing Anesthetic Cream 5% Cream 30G Tattoo. You might be able to just use a lidocaine gel as well if you find a cheaper option (I would ask your pharmacist to make sure it's safe for that purpose before using)
  
  

I have pcos and some great facial hair going on. I use an epillator on my face. I like it better than wax because it doesn't tug at your skin, and its reusable. You don't even need a lot of regrowth before you can use it again unlike wax - you have to wait until it gets long. Also: It IS going to hurt, especially the first few times. And it might cause some irritation - my legs felt sunburned for the first day. It DOES get better. I promise. :)

I've never waxed before or anything but I really hope to get rid of the stubble from body hair and hopefully get smooth legs. Any time I shave it will look decent for like a day then I get terrible razor burns no matter how careful I am. It would be awesome to have a properly smooth body.

This is the one I am planning to get since it is so highly rated.

I don't use it anywhere else just because it would take FOREVER to do a larger body area like arms or legs. It might be better for small areas like hair on the tops of your feet or a happy trail, although I've never tried.

Definitely a larger up-front price (both this model and your average epilator), but it works well and very quickly pays for itself if you wax regularly!

This is what I use. There is a small attachment that I put on when using it on my chin. I'm not a huge fan of using it for legs or underarm (it really does hurt) but I LOVE it for my chin. It takes a long time for hair to grow back, and I can run it over my face on a daily basis. It takes way less time than plucking and you don't have to wait as long between as you do with waxing. When I waxed, I felt like my chin hair was very obvious before enough of it was long enough to wax.

Sadly, I have not actually purchased one yet. However, I have my eye on this one from emjoi, I like the purple one too, but it's costs more and the only difference is color. They also make a black one, if that's what you're into.

Now this is a dry epilator, so it has to be used outside of the water, after soaking would likely be best, to soften the hairs and skin.

There are also wet/dry epilators like the BRAUN Silk-Epil 7 which can be used in the shower/bath, but I've heard they are a bit too rough for more sensitive areas like the bikini line.

For when you finish, there are after-epilation creams that are supposed to slow regrowth and sooth the skin.

Also, epilators are essentially electric tweezers, so if pain is a problem, you should probably not use one.

My current routine is to use a safety/straight-razor and that takes forever anyway, and then the hair grows right back all sharp on the ends.

You may want to look into getting a quality epilator. Here's the one I use. I LOVE IT for my legs. It does smart the first few times, but after that it doesn't hurt and the hair comes in less frequently.

It's pricey, but definitely worth it.

The best purchase I've made in 2016 is my epilator. Yes it hurt at first, but it really did make me feel like I really conquered my body hair.

In grown hairs can be a problem but my post epilating routine has saved me from that. First, I use a homemade sugar scrub (white sugar, lemon juice, almond oil, and haldi), then I shave to get anything I might have missed, and last I use a good moisturizing body wash.

It might be time consuming, but it's cheap and effective, and non-messy, convenient.

I've never tried a hair growth serum, but I do have a slight mustache which I've tried several removal methods. I hate waxing and plucking. I used to love the Sally Hansen version of a cream facial hair remover; however, if you have sensitive skin it may not be the best as it can be irritating and even burn if you leave it on too long.

For the past year or so though, I've been using this women's facial hair trimmer. It's pretty cheap and comes with attachments for eyebrow grooming as well. It's completely quick and painless. You do have to use it regularly (every week or two depending on how fast your hair grows) or you can begin to see slight stubble. I usually know when to use it again because my boyfriend makes a mention of my mustache coming back. I've noticed it gets even tiny peach fuzz which might be good for dermaplaning your face if you're into it though I've never tried it myself.

Thick, dark, coarse hair around your chin and neck might be indicative of hormonal imbalance - have you spoken to a doctor? Birth control could help.

Lurker here. I bought a Bellabe facial hair remover years ago (I'm pretty sure that's the brand I purchased, if not it looks identical). It basically works like threading. I use it all the time for my chin and upper lip. It's pretty painful at first (like threading), but it works and I can still use my prescription retinol. Plus it only costs like $15 on Amazon. there are these little contraptions that are like tiny springs that pull hair out from your face as you roll it across your face! they're re-usable / washable, and i find that although it does take longer than waxing / shaving / depillatory creams, it's not irritating on my face like creams are, not as painful as waxing (it does hurt and takes a while to get used to but it's not terrible) and not as stubbly as shaving!

i use this one, and it's working really well! you do have to sit and do it, but you don't really need to pay attention to it, just look once in a while to see if you're missing patches. i watch like, two episodes of bob's burgers and sit and just idly do it every few weeks! :')

youtube videos help a lot and so does trial and error when you're first getting used to how to do it!

And you're inevitably going to have some unwanted facial hair. I have one of these and I can't even express how effective and convenient it is for my mustache. You're also going to want some good skin care! Pick a moisturizer and use it twice a day, at least. I recommend oil-free, and it doesn't have to be fancy. I use Neutrogena or its store-brand dupe.

Before I even was on meds, I had tried everything from nair, to waxing, to sugar waxing, to tweezing off my hairs. I got so tired of making my skin bleed from having to use tweezers on it everyday, that I bought a epilator and that was my dream come true. Hurts like a mother, but it does the job. And it doesn't cause me to bleed at all.
Now I take metformin 2000mg, ovasitol, spironolactone 25mg. I'm still in the stages of figuring things out so I hope my meds help with the hirsutism and many other PCOS symptoms.

I've used a back scrub brush with soap, a loofah with soap, fancy mango sugar scrub, and used coffee grounds. The first few days after I did it my shins had sideways ingrowns that were annoying, but after getting more regular with my exfoliating they are mostly gone.

It's all personal preference, I think. My favorite method so far is a quick soap scrub with the brush and some post shower super creamy lotion I got from Bath and Body Works on mega clearance for 3 bucks.

This is the epilator I got--it works but someday I'll probably try a different one to see if I can speed up the process. The first time I did it it took more than an hour for just my lower legs. You can use it plugged in, which is nice.

It really was painful but absolutely worth it. I don't have the itchies anymore, and I also don't have chewbacca legs either!

Not OP but dark-haired woman here to say my springit has been life changing for me because wax grabbed my sensitive skin, bleach just gives me a lighter moustache, and plucking was too time consuming. I had a braun epilator in the early 2000 and it sucked! and they were expensive at the time. So in 2010, I bought Emjoy Emagine Epilator and it was a huge difference how better is was. Faster, didn’t hurt much and it is still going strong to this date.
I don’t use it much on my legs since I had laser hair removal, but I still get some hair growing due to health issues and It is still working perfectly. I even used it on my face and it worked there too.
The only thing that is not as good as before, is the cordless function. It is a rechargeable device but now it doesn’t last on a charge as it did before. I just keep it plugged in.

I think little battery operated trimmers are perfect for this. You can find them at just about any drugstore (often in the "As Seen on TV" section). I put a link to one on Amazon so you can see what I mean. For me, it seems to work best to go downward on the cheeks, and upward on the upper lip. These are cheap, so it would be worth a try to see if this works well for her. I pluck the few coarse hairs that show up on my chin sometimes, otherwise I use this gadget. Very cheap, doesn't hurt at all, and very quick to use with no mess.

It depends on what your needs happen to be.

I've tried pretty much every type and brand, due to my notoriously thick, dark hair. I prefer corded units because they are more powerful. I've found that after a year or so, the rechargeable units tend to lose power, and they start to hesitate when they grab on to a firmly rooted hair shaft. This causes pain. The best thing is to have a quick, efficient extraction.

Wet/dry models are rechargeable, so if you have thin to normal hair shafts, these are great because they are so versatile. I use this on my fine arm hair about once every three months or so. I have settled on the Panasonic ESED90P which always works great.

For my legs, I rely on a 10 year old Epilady. They don't make that model any longer, but when I replace it, I'll get another Epilady.

I got a Remington one (link), I liked that this had more tweezers (42 vs some that had in the 20's or 30's), and it also had good reviews. Mine did not come with the face attachment, but I would be too scared to use this on my face.

I am LOVING it for my underarms, no shaving and that perfect smooth, no stubble look.

The two sides spin in opposite directions, so the direction I'm pulling it in doesn't matter as much. Sometimes I go up, sometimes down. Mine didn't come with a sensitive area cap and it's huuuge haha - so if I hold it in the correct direction of the hair growth I can't get it into the bikini line area. The only trick I've run into is that the hair in the top center of my mons grows evrry which way, so I turn the epiliator in a circle to get
everything.

I have a lot of peach fuzz on my face too. This product removes hair very easily and doesn't hurt very badly. It's cheap and works well. Just roll the spring over your face and it removes the hairs, even the little downy ones.

I use an Emjoi AP-10R for normal use, AP-9L for detail work (stubborn chest hairs, behind the knee since I started HRT...loose skin in the big epilator fucking HURTS)...they've worked just fine for me for two years now.

You don't need any particular skill to learn it. Just make sure you roll it the right way and hair comes right off. Since it's a spring, some hairs are hard to get out so just go back and use a tweezer.

So first thing: you definitely shouldn't feel gross about having a lady 'stash OR asking about how to deal with it. A LOT of the lovely ladies here deal with facial hair in varying degrees.
Second thing: Being one of those ladies, I use a similar razor to this one, and it works well. Not a long lasting solution, but it's not at all irritating.

IF your wife can withstand the pain/discomfort, I'd highly recommend investing in an epilator, e.g. Remington's Wet/Dry Face and Body epilator. It'll hurt the first time, nothing atrocious but rather quite uncomfortable, especially in certain areas (e.g. back of legs). After a while, it's just mildly uncomfortable and a lot of people, including me, have found that the hair grows back thinner and is less noticeable. The facial epilator is especially useful for areas like sideburns, neck/chin, but the hair has to be of a certain length for it to work (> 5mm or so).

I had good result with it since im have dark thin hair on my face, i still have to plug a few thicker ones but this spring once a week it has help A LOT. In my experience the first time it will take longer but maintenance is faster. Disinfect hands and spring before and after each use.

I have en Emjoi epilator This thing is great!

It doesn't leave any shadowing and gets easier with each use because only a few hairs in the growth phase (anagen) pop up at a time and they are much finer at first. I have very dark hair in my underarms that leaves a shadow, but epilation solved that for me. I'd let it grow past stubble a little, so the tweezers have something to grab on to, but it doesn't need much length at all.

Personally I find coarseness is more important than length for consistent epilating. Just experiment a bit and find out for yourself what you can epilate and what you can't to get the idea. Also the quality of the epilator is very important, it's not worth it to cheap out. $100 USD is the minimum you want to pay imo. I recommend this one. If you're really pinching pennies go for the epil 7, but otherwise the 9 is totally worth the money.

My two cents: it does hurt but I get an adrenaline high afterwards which makes me feel like superwoman. So there's that.

It really just depends on the technician. I would go to a bigger salon/spa which gets a lot of business and see a person whose only job is waxing.

Another option, which I've recently gotten into, is epilating. It pulls out the hair so you get long lasting results like waxing, but you can do it at home at your own pace and the reusable epilator costs less than a brazilian does. My epilator. I decided I was done with waxing after I dropped the entire jar of wax on my bathroom floor and spent an hour trying to get it all off. Epilating is a lot more convenient, quicker, and cost efficient. It does absolutely wonders to remove my unwanted body hair. It hurts like a bitch the first few times you use it, but after you get used to it, it's amazing.

Yeah, I have this epilator. I rarely get ingrowns from it on my legs or underarms. I get far fewer from epilating than from shaving. I don't have much hair on my legs or my underarms though, so that might be part of it. I don't use it on my nether region though because it really irritates the follicles. But, so does saving. So, I just trim down there (luckily my partners are happy with that).

Old Asian method of hair removal that's come back into vogue in the last few years. I personally have had good results with this, for home use.

It's awesome. My skin is too sensitive for shaving and epilating, and I've tried to thread but I can't master it. I do use a shitload of chemical exfoliants to prevent ingrown hairs though.

I have PCOS and grow hair in some frustrating places, but this product has been a lifesaver. I don't have any issue with bumps which I generally get from shaving (or using conditioner to shave, ugh, even with oil as the bottom layer). And you can get a rather close shave considering that it is a trimmer - I have a tiny bit of friction at the end of where my mustache would be and nada under my chin where I get my coarsest hairs. It also has another razor head specifically for eyebrows!

I highly recommend the Braun silk 9 epilator. Just after you use it make sure you exfoliate your legs. Ingrown hairs are things people didn't tell me about and it's really annoying. Also never ever use skin cream to remove hair. Just don't do it.

I pluck mine, but they don't grow like yours do. I do use a little electric trimmer for any other peach fuzz on my face. You could try something like that for the unibrow part although I wouldn't recommend it for actually shaping your brows.

It takes a little practice. You have to pull your skin fairly tight or it will hurt a bit. It was well worth it for me. It does thin your leg hair out after a while, but it takes a year or so.

This is the one I have. It's mean AF but it gets the job done. If you're at all hairy, don't waste your money on a cordless one.

It's what I've been doing for years. It beats the rest of these suggestions; especially when it comes to the hair growing back. Make sure you buy one that plugs into the wall. The battery and rechargeable models lack the power for male body hair.

I get a lot of hairs there too, so much that I actually just shave, usually. It's not the best, but it's the quickest. The creams are all worthless for me, I gave up on them, and there's always the chance that they will react badly with your skin and then you'll have a rash/breakout instead of hair which...isn't so much better...

No irritation whatsoever and it pivots around curves. Remington also makes one that you can pick up at Target/Walmart but it's not as good and doesn't pivot so I recommend you pick up the Panasonic one from Amazon.

It just works. The only part that was painful was the penis shaft area. You're on your own as far as how much of that you want to yoink with a machine. The rest was nothing.

But get this: I was incautious and I fed my scrotum deep into the mechanism and guess what happened? Nothing. There are no blades and none of it is sharp. I just pulled it out like it weren't no thang.

I do not seem to be having any ingrown problems weeks later and much less hair seems to be growing in then was there previously.

Seriously. Pubic hair comes in so many types, like head hair, that it needs a separate sub or forum or something.

Shaving, trimming, plucking each hair out with tweezers, home waxing (practiced elsewhere first), rolling hair remover, and at this point I could pull it out with my hands if I wanted.

Doing these results in ingrown hair...not doing something about it also results in ingrown hair. Tried conditioner, oil, hair masque, deodorant, etc; my hair grows sharp and can grow back in towards my skin, yet also grows straight and randomly bends in zig-zag patterns, making sure I know it’ll never be cute. I have so many scars. It scars sometimes just from being removed. It’s Type 666. It’s Satan manifested as pubic hair.

Again, pubic hair is as diverse as head hair, but there’s more misconceptions that’ll likely end in dangerous ingrowns or yeast infections or whatever. Pubic hair needs its own “beauty care” guidebook.

Honestly, getting waxed and then following up with an epilator (I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004QI8UJK/) has worked the best for me. Yeah, it hurts like hell the first couple times, but as long as you don't let the new hairs grow in for too long, you stop feeling pain pretty soon. AND you don't have to keep buying razors. It's the cost of the epilator and one brazilian/Hollywood wax (two if you don't keep up on it right away).

For which part? To trim my face I use a facial trimmer. Specifically the Panasonic Pivoting Head Facial Trimmer. It's like $20 at Ulta, I thought I got it for cheaper but I could be wrong. It's also on Amazon. But anything like it would probably work.

I have this one, but I've only used it a couple times because it really fucking hurts. I can only really gather the courage to try it a few times every year. Overall it works for its purpose, but I think it would be more manageable if I toss some sugar and lemon juice into a pot and try out that sugar waxing first and maintain with the epilator.

Works in/out of the shower. If you choose to epilate there are multiple heads to choose from . The razor head is smooth and I use all the time as my electric razor. Charges well and I have no issues with it.

I use one of these guys on my upper lip. Yeah, it's shaving, but I've never gotten stubble or anything. It's not rough and it avoids the possibility of ingrown hairs and bumps from tweezing.

Epilate! It's the beeeest. Hurts like hell for a while, but so worth it, and really easy once you've done it for a while.

Also, when I switched from a cheaper ($60) one to a pricier epilator... Life-changing. The difference in pain levels and efficiency is astounding. The more expensive one hurts way less and pulls hairs quickly and cleanly instead of breaking them.

Honestly though, for legs it hasn't been the best. Maybe I just wasn't doing it right but instead of pulling the hair on my legs from the root, more often half of it would be broken off at the skin while the other half was from the root. It's great with underarms, however. Downstairs area.. I tried once but it was far too painful. As for your legs, though. Have you considered waxing? I wouldn't fully recommend a epilator for legs.

Here is the one that I used to use. Just a word of caution since I stopped using it and went back to shaving:

• Your hair sort of needs to grow out a bit before you can epilate and I live in more hot/humid place, so I tend to like wearing shorts, skirts, and dresses.
  
• It does hurt a slight bit--for me, esp. by my ankles.
  
• It gave me ingrown hairs.
  
  On the upside, when your hair grows back, it is finer than shaving.

That makes so much sense, and I wish it wasn't true. Cost of one and a half waxing appointments = this. I'm pretty good with pain; not much compares to squeezing out some babies. Waxing is painful already—does an epilator hurt more because it's slower?

I have really thick black hair as well and you can definitely see the roots. I usually will epilate my armpits once or twice a week and it take like two minutes with this!

This one has to be plugged in order to be used. I thought that would be a hassle since I had a cordless one before but honestly, having to have it plugged in isnt a hindrance at all. You're always at optimum speed which means it's less painful. The cord is long enough for me to maneuver it however I want to, and I epilate dry.

I would get annoyed with my cordless rechargeable (one I had before purchasing the one recommended) because I always forgot to recharge mine. Because of that, the motors wouldn't be as strong which would break my hair follicles rather than pulling them out and it was more painful when the motors were slow. It ended up aggravating my skin more.

Me three. I get regrowth so fine I have to search to find/feel it. Hurts a tiny bit at first but take a paracetamol and use an ice pack until you're used to it. I started using the epilator about 10 years ago. The first time was hard on the morale, the pain was almost too much !

Each time I was using it the pain was diminishing. After a few months, the only thing I was feeling, was the pulling of the hair, no pain.

Now, 10 years later, I only need to use it twice a month, it takes about 30 minutes.

Before you start saying that you don't like pain... You can choose some pain those first times with the epilator, or shave every other day... Or hide the legs ! :-)

Get a very small hair trimmer. You'll probably struggle with a regular electric shaver, like the kind you use on your head or beards, because it will be too big to properly navigate the your butt crack. You'll be able to get all up in there with the small one...just be careful around your butthole obviously (I don't think you can really cut yourself, but I mean don't put it up there obviously). You may want to bend over with your ass facing the mirror and then kind of half turn around to see what you're doing or look in between your legs.

The one I use for shaving my ladyparts is actually made for men...I think maybe it's actually a nose hair trimmer? But it's awesome and gives me a surprisingly close shave for an electric razor. A lot of them will also have multiple settings and a little detachable head for trimming that you can set at different lengths. The only bad thing about a tiny trimmer is that if you have a TON of thick hair it could get too much caught up in it and stop working temporarily, so you'll have to go kind of slow. Just run it lightly over the surface of your hair at first to trim it down, and then from there you can keep thinning it until it reaches the desired length. You may not want to go for a full shave just yet if you're not used to it. Also trimming and shaving can be a little itchy for a day or two afterwards, but you should get used to it quickly.

This might work for you! I’d searched years and years for hair removal stuff for my upper lips. I have tried waxing professionally and at home, shaving, weird electronic razor thing. The list goes on. I tell everyone about this now! It is amazing and finally don’t have to deal with tiny patches here and there! It takes some getting used to since it can be painful at the beginning but it is so worth it! Also it lasts forever so you don’t have to keep spending money on useless products :)
