I also think flying a grandma or two in would be a good idea. If you have two available, you could fly one in for a few weeks and then the other.

So she can stay in bed and just pick the baby up from a sitting up position. if she doesn't have one. You can also keep just the pad from the changing table by her and she can use it to change the baby right on the bed. Keep everything she needs right nearby. Baby does't have to leave the bed. Newborns don't need to go anywhere anyway.
