Use cases:
Make all the lights flash redMake all the lights flash red then white then red then white when the smoke alarm goes off.Note: This is a frivolous use of lighting and unnecessary but fun. I really like having the Phillips Hue lighting in my bathroom. I light telling Alexa to turn the lights on and off. However, others in the house still use the light swtich which reverts the lighting to white. I'm going to have to put an Phillips Hue Tap or dimmer in the bathroom with several presets to really make this work as intended.
>I did this two months ago and have not had a problem. Why have a hue light in the bathroom? Makes a great way to subtly illuminate the bathroom when guests are visiting. Need Calgon to take you away? So much better in a soft blue light! Feeling Halloween? Redrum. Redrum! Source

>> I just installed a Broan 744 recessed ceiling fan in the bathroom this weekend (me: https://flic.kr/p/KVpWxp). The instructions specifically said "Use R30, BR30, PAR30L, or PAR30LN lamps only (75W Max). For wet locations (tub or shower) - use PAR30L or PAR30LN (75W Max.) lamp only."
>> So, I'm not sure why you would have a recessed exhaust fan in a non-wet location (kitchen perhaps?) but I disregarded the warning and put a Philips Hue BR30 in the can (pun intended). The kids love setting colors for their bath/showers and so far I haven't had any issues. Then again, we've had it operational for 2 days.
>> I could find no good reason to limit myself to a PAR30 based on reading like this: http://www.conservationmart.com/blog/index.php/understanding-the-difference-between-a-par-30-and-br-30-bulb/
>> PAR's sit flush while BRs bulge out a little: http://ledlightbulbs.com/blogs/blog/18473565-par-led-vs-br-led-and-why-it-matters-to-you
>> Oh, and I forgot that I asked this same question 3 months ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/Hue/comments/4ibust/could_a_hue_br30_be_used_in_a_bathroom_recessed/
Thanks. I'm using fan light recessed combos that are in the rest of the house.

Toilet depth isn't an issue so plan to use what's in the rest of the house. Plus the toilet backs up to exterior wall so traditional will be easier.
