I'm so glad to hear that you've found something that seems like a promising solution! It's so stressful when our dogs hurt themselves due to stress.
I'm sure part of this is age related, but our dog only chewed on wood trim once, and I quickly learned it was because we were not providing him with the right things to chew on. Dogs are motivated/interested in chewing on different things, but it is good for their teeth. We had bought some of those flavored and textured Nylabones, and Max was just not interested. I've had great success with these water buffalo horns by Buba. I think it's satisfying because of the taste and little flecks that come off (not harmful, just get one big enough that the whole thing is not ingestible). I got it a local pet store where the owner recommended it, and it was instantly Max's preferred chew object. These ones are also really good - especially when they still have some meat/fat on them. Basically, you want to ensure that your pup has something more enticing to chew on than your furniture!
