I use the shower. Our shower has doors so they can't run off. I trim their nails before showering just incase. Haha. Most of my cats are used to being bathed though now. If your cat is scared of water you can get a few buckets and fill them with water, use one for getting the cat wet and sudsing up and the other for rinsing. This method takes the longest but some cats really don't like the sound of shower. We have a detachable shower head and that is helpful...my cat destiny loves baths now, she will put her front paws up on the edge of the tub so I can spray her belly. Haha. They do make shower wipes for cats too, but I find a old fashion bath works best, it may be an option if you get a cat that just really hates baths though.
