Looks like the power adapter has the micro-USB cable molded in, not as a USB type A port. But, you wouldn't need an adapter to extend the micro-USB cable – just something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Extension-Cellularize-Extender-Adapter-Samsung/dp/B07881TBL1/ref=asc_df_B07881TBL1/ (micro-USB female to micro-USB male). To be clear, though, I wouldn't do this if you're going to use the Ethernet port.
Use an extension cable so you don’t have keep pulling on it when unplugging
Or go out and buy another $20 ps classic as backup controllers
