Completely agree with u/Rlchv70 on taking a few trips - We took a 2 and 7 day, and 3 week long trip before moving entirely into our 5th wheel. The last one we called our "Shake Down Trip" and from that list we came back with 3 pages of things we wanted to change.

Here's a list of random things we found that was helpful as we transitioned from a 3bed/2bath 1700 Sq ft home to a 35' 5th wheel...

  • Everything moves/vibrates. We found laying down rubber shelf liners in all of the cabinets, pantry, and most overhead storage keeps things from sliding around as much. We still have all our original glass cups and dishes and I think the rubber liner has saved them from any breakage as well.

  • RV ovens are smaller than residential so you'll need to check all your pan sizes. They're known for weird hot/cold spots too. A Pizza stone is your friend and will even out the heat. We use our oven all the time now.

  • Limited counter space in the kitchen. Use the walls. We bought a magnetic knife strip to hold all our knives.

  • I found this works awesome for spices in the cabinet and easy to take down and put back up. The smaller one (has a remote in the picture)

  • A cheap magazine holder screwed into our pantry door holds all our Aluminum foil, wax paper, and saran wrap, which freed up a drawer.

  • Paper-towel holder -- We got one that hangs from underneath the top cabinets to keep stuff off the counter.

  • These Storage drawers from Target are awesome for organizing your basement storage

  • Kirkland TP from Costco is RV sewer friendly and much cheaper than branded RV TP.

  • These little shelves fit underneath our cabinets and are perfect for makeup or small personal items. Just measure where your piping is and how deep your cabinet is before buying. Mine just barely squeezed in.

  • If you have laminate or vinyl flooring you will be sweeping All. The. Time. We bought this broom holder w/ a dust pan and keep it snapped on the wall by the door.

  • Drawer organizers. I can't find a pic but at the Dollar Store they have an aisle of organizers and they have these locking pencil holders and little square organizers that are great for drawers.

  • You need a basic set of tools. Specifically screw drivers and very important -- Bits with square heads. Most rigs don't have standard Phillips or flat-heads but these weird square screws. You also need plumbers tape for your propane and duct tape. Seriously. Duct tape should be on the top 10. I would also recommend a socket set and a battery drill w/ bit set.

  • Label Maker -- Everything is kind of tucked away all the time and so having a way to easily see where things are located is a huge time saver. Can pick one up on Amazon for about $15-$20

  • Headlamps - Not just for evening strolls. When something goes wrong, and it will, sometimes you're in tight spaces and need both hands.

  • Toilet - Camping toilets are 'crappy'. Go for a Dometic - and one with the nozzle that rinses the bowl to remove all evidence is fantastic!

Everything else is gonna be trial and error as you find what is important to you, what fits where, etc.

A little more expensive, but I used these

Command Broom & Mop Gripper, 1-Gripper https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U82D0PM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_k58fzbW89MVT0

and they've worked very well. I can adjust it horizontally as well.
