I use Con-Tact Clear Matte, but I buy it at Walmart. You need to make sure the adhesive side is smooth like electrical tape, not ridged like duct tape.
painters tape is a bitch to get off later on. it won't leave much residue, but it will leave some. what i use nowadays, is cheaper, easier to apply, easier to remove and works just as well. con-tact clear shelf liner. it comes in a roll about 2 feet tall. works really well and can be found at target/walmart for usually 10bucks a roll. i use it on my car when i drive to the race track, on the track and back. makes clean up real easy considering some race tracks are out in the desert, with tons of bugs. i've used it for years with 0 problems, but i do wash/wax prior to application
