For a bit under budget, how about the ASUS Vivobook K570UD? It has a stronger graphics card than the Acer Aspire E 15, which will be helpful in the games you listed. It has:

  • i5-8250U 4-core processor

  • 8 GB of RAM

  • 256 GB SSD storage

  • 1080p 15.6" display

  • GTX 1050 2 GB graphics card

  • Weight of 4.2lbs and battery life up to 9 hours

The i7 processor is only a slight improvement over the i5 in this generation, they are both 4 core/8 thread processors. The laptop runs Windows 10 Home. The device is easily mask-able as any regular laptop. The games you listed should run fine on medium-high settings. There is a numpad, but no DVD drive. It has the ports you listed. You can buy an external DVD drive for cheap.

I was also planning to buy the collectors edition but didn't do it because of no steam keys... Big misser.

I don't know about the protection in the retail game. But you could maybe download an ISO of the game and entering your own cd key? Not sure if the game even has a cd key. That's technically not pirating I think. PM me if you need some more info on that :)
Forget that. Game is protected.

I bought a USB Dell USB DVD Drive-DW316 which has served me well. Of course, you can use it portable. Evidently, will not write to a blueray but will play it. Can't test since I don't have not blueray disks.

Most laptops don't have DVD drives anymore. I had to buy an external one on Amazon. I got a Dell for around $30.

At first I bought a slightly cheaper no-name Chinese one but I had to return it because it was crap.

As far as being mobile. I have a nice laptop bag that I not only carry my laptop in but also my cooling platform, an external keyboard, a mouse pad, a mouse, my power cable, an external high capacity HDD (5 TB) with all my movies, sometimes my gaming controller and sometimes my external DVD drive.

It's all still very much portable.

Hello friends,

I recently upgraded to 5.1 surround sound and now must find some surround sound encoded music.

A buddy hooked me up with a rip from DSOTM and it sounds amazing. I see numerous other albums are available in SACD or DVD-A format. I have a few questions:

  • Are there any legit websites that sell digital copies of the surround sound albums?

  • If answer to above is no, I would need to either buy a disc player to plug into my AVR or a CD drive to rip to my PC, correct? Unfortunately the only laptop that I had with a CD drive has died.

  • Can any external CD drive from Amazon work for ripping SACD's or DVD-A's? See for example this: https://www.amazon.com/Dell-DW316-External-Optical-429-AAUX/dp/B00VWVZ0V0/

I mean, you could preorder it, then if it is a disc, go on amazon and just order a $30 USB optical drive Like this one

My recommendations go to this Dell and this LG. They're both USB 2.0 but that won't bottleneck your read/write speeds as USB 2.0 is fast enough for them. Blu-ray is nice, but is generally 4 times more expensive for a single additional feature.

There are some nuances to this. It is misleading to say that using VLC breaks any law in any particular country. This article explains it well:

> We have the Dell DW316 USB 2.0 DVD burner which works well: https://www.amazon.com/Dell-DW316-External-Optical-429-AAUX/dp/B00VWVZ0V0 I believe ours came with CyberLink DVD movie playback software although we never used it.

Thanks for your recommendation. Is there a noticable difference in performance between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 when it comes to DVD players?
