Why do people put up with this? Either get a detachable shower head or an extension arm.
If you live in an apartment just keep the original one so you can put it back on when you move out. You can usually install them without even using any tools.
One of these is nice to have in a smaller shower. I have a shower much like your drawing where the shower head hits me in the head.. With this, the shorter one hits the back of my neck and the taller one is over my head. Feels great.
