> Can you expand on what you mean by setting up Chromecast groups?
If you have multiple Chromecast Audios or Google Homes (including the Minis), you can group them using the Google Home app: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/6328691?hl=en
Once you do that, anytime you go to cast something, it will show you the individual Chromecasts/Homes, as well as any groups that you've created, as options.
> Are your Chromecasts connected to the MP amp as separate inputs, and each zone set up for a dedicated source?
Yes, that is correct. Right now we only have 2 areas connected to the amp using wired speakers, the upper back porch and the lower back porch. We're using channels 5 & 6 on the MP Amp, since those are the only ones with 3.5 input and that's what the Chromecasts included but you could use the other channels with a 3.5mm to RCA cable: https://www.amazon.com/eBoot-3-5mm-Audio-Stereo-Adapter/dp/B06XC5KWJN/
Almost everything else is done directly through 2 Google Homes and 3 Google Home Minis: master bedroom, kitchen/livingroom, den and, 2 bathrooms
So we created 3 groups:
1 Outside Speakers - This is only the two Chromecasts which are plugged into the MP Amp
2 Inside Speakers - This includes all of the Google Homes, as well as a Chromecast which is plugged into the surround-sound system
3 All Speakers - This includes all the Google Homes & Chromecasts
only the RCA inputs inputs in my G35x Sedan from 2007. So I use this combo:

No steering wheel controls so all control comes from the phone. But it works well and sounds good.
