My hamster would kind of chew tubes, but ignored most of the commercial things I bought. Got one of these more to crawl through and he devoured it instead. Sometimes it's just finding what peeks your hamsters interest is all.
Destroying is the whole point of a gerbil's existence! Also never underestimate the power of a toilet paper roll. Good for both chewing and tunneling.
