I don't really know how one file differs from another, but they're pretty cheap compared to files at Home Depot, and they work extremely well. I'm not sure if you've heard of MileHighSkates, but they were one of the more OG online longboard stores. The owner swore by Element files. They're what would use to grip/clean up the grip on his boards. That's how I originally started using them.
