I'm sorry things didn't quite go as planned! I do wonder how a suppository is supposed to help your symptoms if it's only staying there locally?

> She also told me that the progesterone creams are expensive and dont really work that well. she said that basically they don't get absorbed into the body that well and you need to use a lot of it. She said that the best way to get progesterone into the body for something like PMDD is progesterone /estrogen vaginal suppositories. ................

I know I'm just one person and this is anecdotal, but I have to disagree 100% with this. This is the progesterone cream I use. It's ~$32 a tube. The last time I bought one was early October and I have at least another month left, possibly a month an a half before I will need a new one. That's ~4 months a tube, roughly $8 a month. I've been using it since July and that was the LAST time I ever had PMDD symptoms.

There can be issues using progesterone cream if it's not USP progesterone which is bioidentical to the progesterone your own body makes so there is no issue with bioavailability and I've never read anything that said it didn't work well through skin absorption.

The doctors recommendations for you also seem to go against the informative/treatment video you posted earlier.

Obviously PMDD is different for everyone and so treatment will be different for everyone, it just boggles my mind that a doctor would advise birth control, which often contains synthetic progesterone and might not be as effective as usp progesterone. All the best to you! I hope you feel better real soon no matter the treatment!
