You've torn the laminate layer of a waterproof breathable fabric. Tear Aid will work, so will Tenacious Tape or a Gore-Tex Patch kit. If you stitch this area, you will create more holes in the membrane which could cause it to leak (probably only an issue in hard rain) and if you use an iron-on patch you could easily melt or burn this fabric. I would recommend one of the adhesive patches above.
Just tape it on the inside with something similar to this . I used it on the inside of my SL a few years ago and its still fine.
I don't know about their repair program, but I have used these to repair holes/tears and they work great.
