I looked it up. Doesn't list Mustang in product details, but comments state that others have success with it for their mustang.

If your truck already has keyless entry (keyfobs) you can use these and program them to your system the same as you would a keyfob. My 01 Sport Trac and (new to me tomorrow) 17 XLT have built in keypads, but my Mom's F150 (edit - 2010 XLT) did not. She got these, and I was able to add it to the truck in about 10 minutes.

Yea that’s wireless. They actually may not be able to retrieve that code. The units are sealed for waterproofing and the batteries are not even replaceable.

The good news is you can buy yourself a new one.

Which did you get? Someone linked to one on Amazon from Ford for $70 that unlocked the door twice when the battery got low... I think. One review said it did that. The seller's description was abysmally curt
