Pretty surprising you haven't started yet tbh, I'm already in my 4th week out here!

Nevertheless, absolute must haves for me:

Whiteboard/markers (hang on wall- easy way to keep track of stuff. You wake up & it's all right there in front of you, no need to open a computer/login/do all that.)
Bulletin board + 3 hole puncher (i.e. pin important papers, hole punch loose papers into binders)- organized & space on your desk! (At least, this is what works for me
Cleaning wipes- stuff gets real filthy real fast
FUCKING FEBREZE. There's no telling what kinda smells you'll have to deal with.
If possible, noise cancelling headphones. Your roommates/floormates might snore. They might be annoying as fuck. You might not want to deal with them all the time. So with noise cancelling headphones, you get a place where you're guaranteed to sprawl out and be by yourself in your own little world.
Shower caddy- easy transport since you probably don't have your own bathroom. Also shower slippers because college shower floors... shudders
Small fan- helps w/ temperature regulation (unpredictable af and uncomfortable temperatures really bother me)
