Something around these specs should run the game fairly well.

Sweet! Here's a few
This first one has some really good specs in a pretty economical package. one review said that if you connect to a different screen it doesn't utilize the GPU, so only plan on playing on the actual laptop screen. One review says it runs fortnite 70-120 fps, and userbenchmark website says that GPU/CPU combo gets an average of about 90fps. $675 for a quad-core i5-8300h @2.3ghz paired with a GTX 1050ti!

The second one is a little bit more for a better GPU. It has the same CPU as the first one. According to userbenchmark it should add a few frames when playing fortnite. $729 for a i5-8300h and a GTX 1060

Other laptops can run fortnite, but without a good graphics card it really isn't worth it. Both of these laptops can do whatever you want them to do, but can also run games whenever you want them to also. Not to mention they are also a very reasonable price. I wish I would've bought a laptop with power when I was in the market. Have fun shopping!

If you are willing to spend 70 dollars more.
Try using a VPN to get around that, there are a few free ones out there. Both laptops you listed are good but you can also throw the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop into the mix as it is cheaper and has good cooling with almost identical specs. If it was a choice between the two you listed go for the Dell G#
If your budget is inclusive of tax the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop would be the laptop that I would recommend for gaming., you just can't beat a GTX 1050Ti for the price. Its a fast and powerful laptop and it does offer good bang for buck. However it does have some issues which cannot be avoided as you are getting a lot for a little. This laptop does have some QC issues with some with defective boards and HDDs have slipped through the cracks (but you can always return it and get a new one). Its not a flashy gaming laptop like others but its backlit keyboard might be off putting. Its screen is decent nothing too special and its battery life is decent. Overall you should have a good gaming experience with this laptop

using that search engine I was not able to find this laptop:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KQXHP4M/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2DV6NJYHVSQ33
this is the one I am considering right now , the only caveat being that I need to get an m2 ssd , so I have been looking to get this same model from amazon but with the ssd instead of the hdd .
I’m playing R6 at around 768p and 60-70 FPS, got a peak of Plat I. It’s hard but doable, but I really recommend getting something with a 1050ti or higher, so you can play smoothly. Consider looking into something like the Acer Nitro or this ASUS TUF laptop. This HP Pavilion might be good as well. If those are still too high I’ll see if there’s anything that might be better. Note that those won’t have amazing battery life but they should play Siege.
Hmmm, at that price range, Acer Aspire E15 could work, although I am not sure how well its CPU performs in a game like Imperator.

If you are willing to spend a little bit more, something like this: https://www.amazon.com/HP-15-6-inch-Anti-Glare-WLED-Backlit-15-cx0056wm/dp/B07KQXHP4M is still under $700, and should have no problem running any current PDX game.
Have you checked out HP Pavilion 15-cx0056wm yet? It has backlit keyboard, as well as a dedicated graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti that ensures you can even play AAA games at medium or high settings if you ever change your mind. And it's under $700.

Oh wow, you have a very specific usage. I am not going to judge or anything, but a gaming laptop of the ultra thin, ultra portable kind indeed is a bit pricey. No wonder you are looking at MX250 etc. I was checking it out and it seems the MX250 is hardly better than the MX150 so I wouldn't hold my breath.
In case you do want a super portable and are willing to raise your budget a bit, you might look into MSI's GS65, though it should be more expensive than your budget.
I saw this which should be near your needs but I can't vouch for the model or anything: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KQXHP4M/ref=psdc_13896615011_t4_B07MCDNHJ3
cheap, ultra portable, has a GTX1050ti and even though its a low end processor, its still a quad core.
There is also this MSI:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D4ZML7M/ref=psdc_13896615011_t2_B07KQXHP4M
The laptop is at $675 on Amazon, here's the link if you need it

Not a great rig but it will run some stuff on low graphics. With a suggested budget like that for a laptop you probably know you're not running AAA titles well.
Just brought this. HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15.6" Core i5-8300H 15.6-inch Diagonal Full HD IPS Anti-Glare WLED-Backlit Display(1920 x 1080) with Narrow Bezel Design 8GB RAM + 1TB HDD Storage 15-cx0056wm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KQXHP4M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KUnzCb162PDGQ
I think your price range is a bit low, but you can consider the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop in order to squeeze in a 1080p display and GTX 1050 Ti graphics card close to budget,.
HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop: $617
In general, you should be looking at a minimum for:
While you could go for a desktop, keep in mind that you would also need to purchase a monitor, keyboard, and mouse which would run you $100+. Also, for a kid, a laptop's portability is actually a good thing, since they can take it on trips and move it around the house.
Since you aren't super familiar with the PC gaming world, I'd suggest buying from a major brand (e.g., Dell, Asus, Acer, HP, etc.) which would give you better warranty service and customer support. You could save some money going with a smaller brand, but you run the risk of worse quality control and less support.
Going refurb is fine as long as it is a refurb done at the factory. They typically will come with a factory warranty.

If there is any room in your budget I’d consider something like this as you’d get a huge performance boost and be able to play vastly more games at higher settings!
HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15.6" Core i5-8300H 15.6-inch Diagonal Full HD IPS Anti-Glare WLED-Backlit Display(1920 x 1080) with Narrow Bezel Design 8GB RAM + 1TB HDD Storage 15-cx0056wm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KQXHP4M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_L6JxDbPRQH85M
Not sure if this is still affordable to you or not though :\
so i'm looking to buy an ok gaming laptop and i've chosen the hp pavilion 15 gaming laptop, but on amazon there is another model that only differs from the basic one because it runs 4.0 ghz rather than 2.3 like the basic one. They have around an $80-$100 difference. I'd like to know if i should go for the 4.0 one or if i should save my money which i'd like to do. The kinds of games i'd like to play are league of legends, pubg, overwatch, apex legends, star craft 2, tf2, so i'm just wondering if i can run games like these with 2.3 ghz? the 2.3 ghz one the 4.0 ghz one
I'm looking into gaming/general use laptops for myself and a friend, and we both need them for basically the same stuff so I figured the same one would work for us both. Can anyone chime in on this? I tried suggest a laptop but I only got 3 responses which weren't insanely helpful overall.
Budget is $700 USD
A lot of free to play games, Warhammer Deathwing, maybe Borderlands, Rocket League, games like that.
Here are what I am looking at:
This is what I have pretty much narrowed it down to from my own research, but I am happy to take other suggestions. Any help is appreciated.
