Always be aligned on a negative balance. Make sure any air you extract you replace otherwise you could have problems long term.

Use Warehouse fans with shielding/enclosure or use fans that have shrouding around them.

Think something like this - https://www.amazon.com/iLIVING-ILG8SF10V-Wall-Mounted-Variable-Shutter/dp/B01G8I7HVC

You can also build a little roof/enclosure around it to prevent rain/snow coming in but be mindful that if the fan you install is strong enough, you still may pull them in.

I have not, no! I did check out this: "approximately 65 CFM per kw" https://www.taitem.com/wp-content/uploads/GeneratorsandCombustionArticleACCEPTEDEDITS.pdf

My generator has a pretty sizable internal fan to blow over the inverter coil thingy. I'm figuring that this shutter exhaust fan should be enough: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G8I7HVC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'll put it on the exhaust side to suck out all of that hot air. Up to 600 CFM should be plenty.

Something like This would work great. Just cut a hole and trim around it.
