This is what we have installed on one of our sinks, our cat learned it in 30 seconds, dogs learned it after about 2 days. We've used it for about 5 years now, replaced the device once and replace batteries about once every 9-12 months or so. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000EJXR0M/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1425782354&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&keywords=automatic+faucet&dpPl=1&dpID=5120H7BY79L&ref=plSrch

I dont remember the exact thread measurements on all the adapters, but they can all be found in a normal hardware store.

So I understand you want to shut the water off completely but why not just add something similar to this: http://www.amazon.com/iTouchless-Faucet-Automatic-Touch-Free-Adaptor/dp/B000EJXR0M
It will make your sink a touchless and it will shut off automatically after she's done.
You'll still be wasting water when she does it but I'm sure a few pennies worth of water isn't going to break the budget if you're already in the market for a solution to remotely shut the water off.
Or just replace the facuet completely with a touchless.
I personally like the idea of what the one guy posted but soldering isn't something everyone can do and adding on that is going to probably require a LOT more work because your sink (probably) doesn't have any/much exposed copper. It probably has just enough stubbing through your cabinet for the anglestop to be attached to. So you'd end up needing to route new lines inside your cabinet for that thing to attach to. It would get messy and probably a lot more costly unless you're able to do it yourself.
These are better. No cleaning or refilling.
