I have this one and it works great. I have it connected to ps4, pstv, ps3, wii U, and a computer, and the optical output goes to an Astro Mixamp TR for sound. I had another one, I think it was from Monoprice, that also worked great but didn't have audio extraction which is why i switched to this one when I got the Astro A40 kit with the Mixamp.

A buddy has the 5x1, I've got two of the 3x1 switches. They're everything they advertise they are but admittedly we have them for the audio extraction feature.

I use mine with a 5x1 hdmi switch with no issues. here’s the one I bought. mine is an older revision without plus on the front. the newer regions should work the same.

or you got everything figured out except for the Nintendo Switch only has hdmi but no TOSlink?

this is a thing, too

you'll need to watch the specs for the refresh rate and resolution.

if you're trying to play in 4k at 120hz, you'll spend a lot for the switcher.

I use this one with my Epson projector, has audio out from the hdmi, ARC 4k ready, no issues and works with harmony remote.
IR from my soundbar and this got confused on input 1 so I just don't use it,
