I'm thinking you get one of those fancy measuring cups like Alton Brown uses, with a plunger to push out the contents. Load cup with all your burrito goodies, place mini tortilla over mouth, unleash plunger directly into tortilla and nomnomnom.

Looks like an adjustable measuring cup.

edit: here

Seamless silicone spatulas, kitchen scale, good set of measuring cups/spoons if she doesn't have, adjustable push-up measuring cup works great for molasses or syrups or really anything goopy.

The Canadian dollar is very comparative with the aussie dollar. Found this which seems more reasonable. Can't promise anything for shipping though.

Silicon baking mats and adjust-a-cup measuring cups.

Edit: I'm also partial to the #20(2 tbsp) and #40(4 tbsp/1/4 cup) dishers.

whats your budget like? building a kitchen can be completely different based on your budget and cooking habits. though my two cents

an adjustacup to save space,

a nice cutting board not one of the cheap plastic ones ( mine warped after 2 handwashed, seriously cheap stuff)

and then think of everything you cook most often. do you need a garlic press? i personally don't, nor do i make things in pots often so i skipped it at first and got one later. i also forgot to get a large frying pan with a lid, so now i have to use a cookie sheet to cook my bean and rice dishes properly. as oswaldcopperpot said, you can always go back and get more stuff, only get what you need. oh and nice metal spice tins. none of that clear crap unless you are keeping all the spices in a cupboard and make sure they seal well.

There are actually measuring cup type instruments that work like this. You pull back the handle to the right measurement (say, 2 cups or 20 oz), fill it with whatever (say, ketchup or mayo), and push-pop the ingredient right out.

Not going to help clean out your jars though.

Not sure about that one, but this one on Amazon does. Fairly sure the one I have at home does, but I am not sure of the brand.
