This is the one I have: Kuhn Rikon Auto Safety Lid Lifter (Amazon Link)
I heard about it from here: Serious Eats: The Best Can Opener
It works amazingly. It's the most I've ever spent on a can opener but it's way higher quality than the shit I used to buy. The only annoying part is that it's hard to drain things like tuna. I used to push the lid down and use that to keep the tuna in and push the water out while turning it upside down in the sink. Can't do that with this new opener. I might buy the other type too just so I have one for that kind of situation.
Once (if) he ever masters that kind of can opener, subtly fuck with him by giving him one of these next time.
I have one of these. https://www.amazon.com/Kuhn-Rikon-Auto-Safety-Lifter/dp/B000I7GRUM/ref=sr_1_12?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1499276384&sr=1-12&keywords=can+opener+smooth+edge
I love it an have had it for years.
I'll recommend this to anyone who cares to listen to me talk about tin openers.
