I have two things:

  1. Letterman. This badass is durable (25 year warranty), compact(fits on your keychain) and is host to 6 or more tools (there are two variants in that range which i could show you, but my personal preference is the CS) and you can get it past the TSA to boot. Reccomended by /r/buyitforlife

Expensive and hard to get hold of in the UK?!
I got a leatherman wave at 15, and now carry a skeletool CX at all times. Admittedly, they were 90 and 70 quid respectively. However, any outdoor store stocks the full range, as do many good tool stores.
as for price, I give you the Style CS.

If you really do want a leatherman, 20 quid with free shipping is practically nothing for the quality of tool you are getting. The same as a cheap night out!

Alternatively, if you want the pliers, Gerber is there for 25, and other Leatherman, including the basic skeletool, start out at 40 quid.

You have no excuse!
